Default Sun and fish on the Alsea

Went down from Mill Creek to Campbell on the 10th and we had a good day, not many boats (only saw one) and hooked 4 and landed 3, I got my first limit of 2004 Hopefully it won't be the last Also did the same drift today and landed 1 native and broke one off, and yes they were all mint bright fish and hard fighters. Now it is back to work tomorrow night but at least I got a fix that may get me through another week in he!!

Tim

Why would you let that guy in your boat?

Good job on the fish!!

Took Wiekle out today. It was his B-day and he was gifted with 4. The only 4 landed for my boat today It should hve been a whole bunch more but I was asleep at the wheel all day.

Did you check to see if those fish were broodstock-hatchery fish? This is the first winter they were due back to the Alsea.

What do you look for?? I was under the impression that these were just that, from the broodstock program but didn't know what to look for. They did fight real hard and that has not been my experience with Alsea hatchery fish. Any help would be great.

Where is a good spot to bank fish on the main stem of the Alsea river this time of year? I usually just fish the North Fork. I've tried a few spots with no luck.

The Alsea has more bank accesable areas on the mainstream than just about any river in Oregon. Hiway 34 runs along it almost the entire length and a whole lot of it is available for fishing. Do like Ty, and find your own favorite holes.
