For those that are at work:

hijaked planes crashed into the twin towers, one has collapsed.

the pentigon is on fire.

All airports are closed.

Countless lives lost!

This is a very sad day in Americas history. Evenif you are mad at me I hope you agree that this is very wrong. My prayers are with the familes who have been hurt or killed, and hope yours are to. I want to see the bad guys get caught and avoid WW3.

A moment of silence for those that perished.

Let hope for the swift and brutal punishment of those cowardly *** holes who perpetrated this attack.

Watch as I do in horror as history unfolds before you.

My God, I can't believe it! I just got home from work, and I need to go to bed, but how can I?

This certainly makes all of our petty differences shrink to insignificance.

Our hearts go out to victims, survivors, family, friends, and a hope for swift and sure retribution.

No worries, Jen. Watch as New York, DC and Johnstown suck it up and walk it off. These places are now swarming with professionals, firemen and rescue workers who save lives and make it right.

We (America) have the most powerful arsenal in the world. Because we have been sucker punched before, this arsenal is kept in a ready state.

The terrorists want the attention focused on thier agenda. I'm betting they are going to get way more attention than they bargained for.

Their 'agenda' will be made irrelevant by thier extinction.

Pray for the victims, it's the only thing you can do.

The terrism act was sickening. It was not as bad as what the Palistinians were doing. They were jumping in the streets and honking their horns. The worst part was the children were involved in the cheers to. How can you teach kids to hate so much that they receve pleasure from the death of so many innocent people? Saw this on NBC.

The american public has seen the face of war, and we as a nation are shocked. We live in a very vulnerable country that hopefully had thier eyes torn open. We will get the ******* that are responsible, and hopefully their whole country. Do not let our Govt. take away our freedom to bear arms, because it will be our last defensive tool to save our families and possibly our nation. May God be with the families and our nation

Wow what an unbelievable act all I can do is sit here in complete shock. The amount of lives lost is still undetermined and the shock I can't seem to get over. Really makes things like fishing seem so small. My heart and prayers go out to all those families with any tie at all to anybody in that area..

This is certainly a tragedy that will touch many of us and bring out emotions that will vary from anger to compassion.

I think it's important to keep a focus on the events at hand and to pray.

Pray for the victims that their souls are saved.

Pray for the victims families that God will provide the strength to handle their loss.

Pray for the nation as we enter a time of sorrow.

Pray for our leaders that God will provide the wisdom to make decisions in the next coming days.

Pray for the unfortunate victims in NY and Washington. The lost airline employees aboard those hijacked planes. A swift and final justice to the perps! Just heard that now there has been a bomb threat to our Capitol and it has been evacuated.

Hey Happybrew, Believe me I am all for anything that works. I also want to send out my deepest sympathies to all of the families who were touched by the senseless violence. The company I work for had about 28 employees who worked in our in house legal office which was located in the World Trade Centers. We have yet to hear about their status. Just hoping they may have made it out before the buildings fell to the ground.

After the Oklahoma bombing, we were furious at the international terrorist groups...but it turned out to be a home-grown boy who did it. We don't know who did this, and as a civilized nation, we should find and punish the guilty by rule of law. Most important, we cannot blame our fellow citizens that might have middle eastern roots. They might have lost people in New York too. Let us be gentle with each other.

StzII- they are in our prayers.

My brother-in-law sometimes goes to the Pentagon. This morning, I called to make sure he was okay, and I got the anwering machine. I feared the worst, but I got ahold of my sister later, and she said he was out of town.

One of my customers had a sister who was supposed to be on the flight that was hijacked out of Boston, but she switched to a different flight.

I don't think there will be anybody in the U.S. who is not touched by this in some way.

In a time like this there is no partisan politics! No democrats or republicans! We're Americans! and we don't take this lightly. The cowards need to know that they have now drawn the line in the sand and America WILL act! In the words of a great American spoken over 40 years ago."Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty"
I too pray for peace but I also pray for swift and sure justice to those that committed this heinous act!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!! Revenge will be mostly bitter and very little sweet. It is time to do away with tolerance of terrorist nations and supporters.

Unlike Japan and Germany the muslums are not much for negotiation. The only thing they understand is the end of a barrel pointed at them. This is not to say that all muslums are the culprits or unreasonable yet they are brain washed from childhood that we are the evil nation. They do not know any different.

Retaliation is only a question of when and how. Not if.... Hopefully the culprits will be caught and publically executed on TV!!! Broadcast it over the entire world. Do this again and we will make you glow in the dark for centuries to come.

We have put up with this crap long enough. It is time for action. Lets Go President Bush!!!!!!!!!

If I remember correctly, we had to nuke Japan, and fight for every street in Berlin before that war was over. They weren't much for negotiation either. And they were indoctrinated from their youth as well.

Yhe only way Mohamar Kadiffy was stopped was with 200 planes loaded with bombs. The kamikazee terrorism of Japan was only stopped after Nagasaki and Hiromshima. I hope President Bush has what it takes to make these types of decisions.
Maybe congress will now quit passing laws to hamstring the CIA's and other spy agencies. Why don't they make gun training mandatory for airline crews. And give them all concealed hand gun permits?
I truly feel sorry for the victims and their families and I pray for them, but I am raging mad. We need to level the site when all this is over and put up a monument to America's false complacency.

Sitting in front of the TV today was like watching a a bad movie over and over and over again. Have you ever tried to place yourself at the scene? Just shocking........I listened to Peter Jacobsen's (pro golfer) daughter's interview, she's attending college nearby and from her dorm watched people through binoculars waving white cloth or paper from the upper story windows of the first tower that was hit to summon help. As she watched the helpless people, she saw the second plane hit the second tower........trying to imagine the loss of life, shock, horror of it all,the needless pain and suffering, it's so painful to watch or listen anymore. I'm in a state of shock, numb.

War was declared on America today, make no mistake about that.

I spent the day watching the news with my baby grand daughter today, all I can think of right now is "is this the new world she will be facing". I also have a son in Chicago that I am wondering how I am going to get him back to Portland safely. I am sick, heartbroken, tired, worried and angry.

I pray for the people of New York and D.C., the families of the victims and for all of us. We need to be a united nation of strength and we need to rise above our enemies.

It has effected me more than I would have ever thought and I pray that we will heal quickly.

With heavy heart, RW.

I understand the desire for retribution is strong, but it will only lead to more of the same. We need to take out the people who did this, as punishment and protection, and deterrence to others, but that's all. Levelling the Middle East will not solve the problem. We need to do justice, and then forgive. That's what we did with Japan and Germany, and it worked.

I've already posted my thoughts about the heroes in this tragedy, but this seems like the place for some other thoughts I have had. I strongly believe there is an afterlife but have had some doubts about the fire and brimstone hell we were told of when growing up. I sincerely hope it is there for the slimy cowards who perpetrated this act. All I can think of to say to them is "Burn in hell".

To the innocent victims and the heroic firemen, pilots and police officers, "Rest in peace brothers". May the wind be always at your back. May the road rise up to meet you. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
