Last year about this time, I would put in at the Newport marina, drop the crab pots around the bridge, and motor up past the big green tank fishing near the buoys on the south side of tidewater. I always got crab, and two out of three trips I caught chinook on cut-plug herring as well. I'm not sure how its doing yet this year, but I would be interested in hearing, too.
