Music
So what do you all listen to on the way up in the hills or to the duck blind? I am a big fan of Hank in the early morning, nothing like good tunes to get you phsyced for the big day ahead!

Re: Music
What seems to work for me and is a bit of a lucky charm at 4AM is ZZ Top.
'LEGS' gets me dreaming of those redleg mallards and before I know it, it's time to head for the blind!!

Depends on which version of Whitesnake there buddy. Saw them open for Todd Rungren at the Greek in 78 or 79 - I hear later they traded some of their guitarists for a Berkeley native and one of my heroes Steve Vai, a one man guitar show jaw dropper.

that really made me laugh
Why in the world would you listen to those two if you are country fan - never mind its music - its all good.
Oh my answer - depends - sometimes instrumental, depends on the mood if its keyboards or guitars. Other times its Some progressive rock something lately mostly Marillion and Porcupine Tree. Some moods drive me back to Yes and Genesis. I get a lot of, "Who is this."
Other times I'm lost in something of my own. Hunting camp this year I got busted big time. Buddy says I've been too quiet all day, just as I grab a pen and rip off three paragraphs of new lyrics, hunt deer what? Way way off the bass clef

Re: Music
Check these guys out. My wife and I flew to Austin, Texas for the recording of this DVD and had a great time. I've seen a lot of live music and these guys are really hard to beat. This is a cover song but they have some great original music as well.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are my all time favs but of course they don't tour much anymore.

Re: Music
Eric Church's new album is awesome!! Listen to that quite a bit, almost anything country, a lot of George Strait and of course I have to listen to some ACDC "Thunderstruck" before getting out of the truck just to get pumped up!

Re: Music
I always have something on to listen to....Even if it is a movie the kids are watching......The exception to this is when I am on my way to hunt, or fish. I like the silence. I don't want to hear anything that could lessen my mood, and nothing I could hear would improve it.

Re: Music
Believe it or not John Denver had a great song called, "I took Two Shots got no Ducks" It was on the Calipso albumn that was dedicated to Jacque Costeau. I like Uncle Ted's "Fred Bear" song in the blind too.

Re: Music
Though its more of a fishing song, "I'm gonna miss her" by Brad Paisley sums it pretty good.
"Well I love her.....but I love to fish. Spend all day out on this lake but hell is all I catch. Today she met me at the door, said I would have to choose. If I hit that fishin hole today, she'd be packing all her things and she'd......be gone by noon. Well, I'm gonna miss her."

Re: Music
You guys are missing out on the classics, Freddy Fender, Hank Williams senior and one our all time favorites Johnny Horton.
Newer stuff Bruce Springstein , and Like Tom Petty.
We once hunted a whole week for antelope and all we had was a old Hank senior tape I admit it got a little old.
I have been thinking about some head banging music I just hunting better when I am ticked off of course it might take me a hour to get my hearing back.
