Default I took a big chance, and I think it worked out!

So the big chance was taking my 6 year old daughter on her first camping trip/hunting trip. The wife had to work the day after Thanksgiving and I was going to be gone hunting elk with my Dad in Southern Utah. Daughter was going to day care for that one day. Nope I said I will take her with me. As I thought about it, I was not so sure it was a smart idea. But this area is covered with roads and mostly we get to high spots and glass. My 22 year old son was also going and could hike with Grandpa if needed. So it was decided. I made sure she had all that would be needed to try and make sure she had a good time and would want to go again. So to find out if it all worked out click the link below. There are short video clips and lots of pictures and a fuller explanation as to what happened. See if you think I did the right thing?

Her bright pink looks nice too... pretty on a gal instead of hunter orangeumpkin:

She liked her pink camo clothes the best but they were not warm enough to wear out there. No question this could have ended up with her never wanting to go again but I think she will be out there with me soon. I just need to get out and buy more .22 cal ammo. She already wants to go shooting some more! I may have created a monster!

Good for you Dave. About that age, its important to get the kids out so they can decide if they like it.

I have three younger sisters, one of which turned out to be quite an outdoorswoman. She shot her first deer at age 17. All three of them would go with me from time to time on easy trips on the ranch.
