Default The Oregon Coast

It has long been my dream to live on the Oregon Coast! As we were driving through Garibaldi last night to get some sunset pictures I looked at all the beach front home owners homes and can't help but envy them. The idea of have the ocean within walking distance of where I live is most appealing. Some out of the way place would be just fine with me maybe like Twin Rocks or even Rockaway. Bill and Jennies home is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Kilchis river. Just think about having the Kilchis out your back door, the Wilson fifteen minutes away, the Tillamook Bay,the Nestucca and Trask just down the road a bit! Man that's the life! Anyone can tell that they put a lot of work into their place and it is truly paradise! Jennie be sure to remind your boys how lucky they are to live in such a great place. Mark my word though one of these days it's going to happen and I will live there someday. Sixty mile from my home in Hillsboro is just too far and I will never move any further east than I already do now. So watch out Jennie,Bill,Marty,Lee and Capt.Joe I'm going to be your neighbor one day

Bigstew,

I totally relate to your last testimonial.

I have lived many, many places, from Alaska to Washington DC and inbetween places, and have found there is no better place than right here in Tillamook county.

But I didn't tell you. NO not me!

I have truly found paridise!

My wife and I love the Oregon Coast. Has to be one of the most beautiful places we've been.
Spent our honeymoon out in Oceanside and Netarts. Spent many good weekends down there. Lots of good memories down there.

We've seen some beautiful sunsets down there, there's nothing neater than a clear night with a full moon shining on the ocean and looking at it from one of the high bluffs.

Jeez now I want to head down there for a weekend.

I grew up going to WA beaches, hated going to the beach up here. Nothing but wind, water and sand. Coldn't figure out when I got older why in the world my mom and stepdad would always head to the Oregon coast. I found out when I went down for the first time.

I would love to find a way to make a living down there. I guess the trick is eliminate alot of these bills. Told the wife we could afford to live down there on half our wages if it weren't for all these bills we've accumulated.

I heard of a machine shop in Astoria, but heard they're real seasonal.

This brings up something interesting.
What does everyone down there on the coast do for a living????

I'm one of the lucky ones I guess. You know the red house on the right as you go out of Bay City there, heading for Garibaldi just past the smoke house, There is a 19' Smoker craft parked behind a whole lot of dead cars (REDNECK TYPE CARS) the ones with grass as high as the hood. Well that happens to be my husbands uncles house. He lost his leg a few years back and can't use his boat anymore, so he lets his boys park in front of it. He has such a heart, if his grand nieces and nephews needs a place to stay he opens the house up to them on the grounds that they help him out. He still is the man of the house and still cooks but he lost his wife in a freak accident. She went in for knee surgery and never woke up. We are the only ones in his family that still fish.
