Pink Floyd Fans - January 12th

Ok now that I have your attention - just a little plug for a pretty well known Pink Floyd cover band Floydian Slips. They will be at the Aladdin on January 12th - I've never seen these guys only heard 2nd hand how good they are. There is some info on them on their Myspace page as well as the bio on the Aladdin web site

But they do not play much and have a growing fan base. Its a weekend night to boot -

Your right they do not play often. Just once or twice a year. I print the t-shirts for them. Real nice people. Floyd fans should definetly check this out.

I went to a Pink Floyd Concert once.

1972 or was it 73. Maybe 74, those years kinda run together

About all I remember is speakers around the whole coliusium at the top rows and it smelled really good..............:tongue:

I saw the real band 3 times. Once at Asbury Park, New Jersy. And twice at The Fest Hall in Frankfurt, Germany. Think I will check this out.

Oh, and there was another Ten Year After that? Or was that a band too.
It all runs together. Or is that a Flashback?

Fishbait. If I remember correctly (and it was a long time ago) it was late '72 or very early '73. And yes, speakers all around the Coliseum. It was Meddle.

Mike the wind is blowing, don't worry it, it isn't the rushing sound of a river flowing through your ears - ooops wrong band - oh ya that was the last band I saw at the Aladdin.

Floyd was one of the great stadium acts, left to us in the demise of friends who are competing for the same fans - Roger and David. In Gilmoure's most recent DVD there is an awkward session where David's band is rehersing, and Roger is on the same property recording a new album - they meet for a hand shack that was nothing but very awkward. Almost as Awkward as John Bonham's son playing tubs for the Led Zepplin gig last month.

Anyhow - this is a leap for these guys to come to Portland - its a great venue, with a comic for an opening act $15 oh and they server beer there and you can bring it to your seat.

Ok checking to see if I can still feel bottom, yep right were it should be - the tide is starting to run and the wobbler is twitching just right.

Pre Function next door - the food is good - especially the nachos
