Question Shotgun sights

Last year was my first year of duck hunting and i borrowed a gun from a friend. It had a tru-glow sight which i liked alot. I now have my own gun and want to get one of the tru-glow sights for it but they have about 5 different ones at our local gun store. They have ones that stick on, screw on and magnetic ones. I'm not real sure which one i would be the happiest with, so i need a few ideas. Thanks

I have the EasyHit Hunting kind. I think they make them with different mounting types & I went with the stick on kind after loosing a magnetic kind last year. It is a green sight, but if I were to do it over, I think I would get the red.

I really like this sight as it forces me to keep my cheek down on the stock as I have a tendency to pick my head up when looking at the bird. It has a tube that extends about two inches down the rib so that you can’t see the fiber optic sight unless you have the proper eye alignment.

You can get it at most major sporting/shooting stores. I got mine at Sportsman's or Joe's I think.

Good luck

Another vote for easyhit. I use the 3mm shooting bead in orange. I have severe cross eye dominance problems, and the easyhit really helps. It's a stick on.

I'd agree with Baltz on this one. It's just a distraction. If I can see my bead during the shot, I usually miss. I don't have any experience with cross eye dominance so it sounds like it can help with that. If you don't have that issue, you may save some money and just shoot without it. With that said, I only know one person who "used" to use one and it was the magnetic type. He eventually lost it and felt no need to replace it. Actually said he shoots better without it.

I've often thought of getting one myself but I feel they would be more of a distraction than a help. I had a shotgun where I filed the bead half off and I hit more birds with that than I ever have. I try and look at the bird and after thirty years hope my barrel is lined up with where I'm looking, that works most of the time.
