Not for the faint of heart
This is what the ocean has looked like all day. Bar has been unrestricted. There were even spots between Yaq. Head and the N Jetty that looked like reflecting ponds.

Re: Not for the faint of heart
Ya gotta rub it in, don't ya? I considered going, but had a doc apt this morning. Still looking at the forecast for Sat, don't like the HUGE tidal exchange though. It's one of the largest tide exchanges for the whole dang year.
So, Walter do you plan on clamming using a lantern this weekend?

Re: Not for the faint of heart
I was landlocked today too. Trailer work, my favorite right behind crawling under Glens house. I will be out spotlighting clams on Friday and Sat. and on the right side of the jetties if the Ocean is good.

Re: Not for the faint of heart
I picked one up at Wallyworld. It was $15, LEDs w/red, flood and beam settings Energizer Brand. Saw some at Englunds too but twice the price.

Beautiful Walter! Thanks for posting the pic. I'm in hunting mode so your flat water pics don't bother me.

Walter, by the looks of things over there I would have thought you, Aaron, and Keli might have been out fishing. Happy Thanksgiving! SG

Re: Not for the faint of heart
Thanks Walter, nice pic - I'll leave you all with this till we meet on the salt again. Sorry, not my words, but they will do - for now
The loneliness calls him
And the edge which must be sharpened
He's losing it. And he knows.
But there's a fighter in his mind and his body's tough
The years have been unkind but kind enough
The smell of the earth
It's his favorite smell
But he's somehow compelled to the stinging salt hell
To the place where he hurts and he's scared
And there's no one to tell
And no one who doesn't listen
"You can take all the boys and the girls in the world
And I'll trade them this morning for my sweet Ocean Cloud
I've seen too much of life
So the sea is my wife and a sweet Ocean Cloud is a mistress I'm allowed
for now."

Pilar, I got one from REI several years ago, it takes 3 "C" cells. I haven't seen any other headlamps that put out as much light. Lasts long enough to gut and quarter an elk, then pack the quaters out. Not as light weight as most of the LEDs though.

Re: Not for the faint of heart
Went for clams this afternoon (it was very good) - had to stare out at the ocean. I was seriously kicking myself for not being out on the big pond.
Friday - I'm running for the shale pile. Who's in?

Re: Not for the faint of heart
I can make you even more jealous. We were one of the only boats out on the pond today. Beautiful day. Hit some really nice lings and some pretty good sea bass to go along with them. Headed out again Saturday!!

Re: Not for the faint of heart
I was tucked away in my layout blind, watching geese working over the decoys. Had a great day, but yes, I did talk about tuna at the check station.
It isn't ALWAYS about fishing.
Skein - who somehow managed to collect his limit of geese.
