Full moon revisited - Affects on fish and people
I can't remember which thread, but someone was discussing the affects of the full moon on fishing. The consensus seemed to be that unless you were night fishing it is better when there isn't a full moon. Perhaps, but only a little diff for salmon and steelhead in my opinion. There were lots of salmon caught on the NF Monday, during this full moon phase - and this is a viscious one. ...
As for the effects on people, it's well documented to have negative effects on many of us. I am no exception. You may have noticed the last few days in some of my posts, especially football threads, a little aggrivation. I do get a little cantankerous on a hard full moon sometimes. Please excuse this one. How does it affect some of you guys that do sense a difference? And what do ya think about it's affect on salmon/steelhead fishing?

I have more energy, and don't seem to need (or get) as much sleep.

Re: Full moon revisited - Affects on fish and people
I look forward to fishing when there is a full moon.I've had many multiple fish days fishing for summer steelhead when there's a full moon and many of my fishing partners feel the same way I do about it.

Here is the tread on the moon. Check out Mr. Fisherman's link, it's very cool.

Re: Full moon revisited - Affects on fish and people
Maybe it's just me - In looking at the dam counts for this past summer, the highest movement days have been during full-moon phases. Also, I had a couple of excellent summer steelhead days during the full-moon cycle.
As for me during a full-moon, I'm worthless at work and I generally have an urge to chase my wife around the house. There has to be a connection!

I have this uncontrolable urge to bite things. Sometimes I will howl for no apparent reason. Other than that I'm fine jb

Just ask any cop or paramedic about the affects of the full moon on people.
Me? I just walk around in circles a few times before I lay down.

Re: Full moon revisited - Affects on fish and people
Full moon ... trout seem to feed all night during a full moon ... my experience is that trout are less hungry during the day after a full moon. I don't know that it affects salmon and steelhead as much. The effect on humans ... well, 25 years ago I worked as a psyciatric orderly and learned to fear the full moon.

Re: Full moon revisited - Affects on fish and people
Never really noticed a big change fishing, now hunting was a diferent story. Work related I know we are much busier runing calls during a full moon and the wackos are really out. More fun that way

Re: Full moon revisited - Affects on fish and people
Full Moon sometimes the bite goes off for me and then at other times noticed it was improved. I know crabbing is better. Usually full moons make me hungry for cinnimon rolls and throwing rubber tackle at salmon.
