Springer Run Timing

My brother is coming to visit from Washington DC sometime in April. He is coming on business but would like to stay around for the weekend so we can get some fishing in. He is scheduling his trip now. Any advice on what week to pick to have a decent chance at a springer? When will the run peak on the lower Columbia Longview/Kalama area? Thanks.

The run will be in full swing in April. I'd go for the first part of the month, if possible. There is some possibility that the season might be closed based on impacts on wild fish. The later in the month you get, the greater the possibility.

It's unbelievable the info that is available on this site I just mentioned.

April 25 seems to be the peak at Bonneville, by the way....so I'm GUESSING April 23 is the peak where you want to fish...but I haven't really checked it out more than this, as such.

But closures might effect it, I don't know.

All I can say was, the fishing stunk on April 5th last year in Kalama...
