Looking for Tillamook advice
Ok, someone is going to say to themselves, well just keep on looking. Buttttt, if anyone wasssss willing to share some tips, pointers, or helpful advice, I'd be willing to listen. I've heard a prop boat shouldn't put in at the oyster house and try to run across to the ghost hole so I'll probably put in at Garibaldi. How about colors, leader length, etc. Share, share oh great ones.

Re: Looking for Tillamook advice
High tide at Memaloose is no problem for a prop, other than that it's a bit tricky, as you said the ramp at Garibaldi would be the best choice (especially this early in the season) Concentrate your time around the Ghost Hole and Coast Guard Station, then on the incomming head for the jaws (or the bubble if so equipped and conditions safely dictate you can do so).
4 to 6 ft. of leader will work with either plug-cut or whole herring, 18 to 24 inch dropper with 4 to 16 oz of lead. (use enough to keep your bait down and close to the bottom!)
Be ready to mow the lawn, or at least collect enough grass to make you think you just mowed!
Be safe out there!

Someone from Mt Angel. Didn't think there was anyone left over there. I grew up in the Oktoberfest Capital. How long you lived there?

Re: Looking for Tillamook advice
Gone Fishing is spot on. I would recommend using a 3 way swivel or spreader. Also use a bead chain between your leader and your swivel. Try to troll as slow as possible as these fish will not travel to far to get your bait.
The bubble is a great place to be if the conditions will allow you to get outside. The fish school around the south jetty and the bite can be real good. Just be very careful going out and only cross on the incoming tide. I prefer the outside over the jaws because of the grass that comes in on the incoming tide, it can be a real pain.
Gone fishing, I have spent many hours spooling the ole mower !

Re: Looking for Tillamook advice
Lipripper, six years. My wife grew up here and lured, hehe, me back.
You know, it really does get annoying when you have to keep clearing your line. Troll, shake, troll, shake. Is there any place cleaner? THANKS for the info all.
Hey, if you see me out there, toss a quarter behind my boat and wish me luck.

Re: Looking for Tillamook advice
I lived out in that area for most of 20 years, the family had the Angel's Table for about half that long too. So Floater you still have seats open for Saturday? If you can take 2 of us the baitgal and I would like to fish. Email me and lets go catch some. Then go to the party.

WOW! FM2!!!
I have one of those Berkley line strippers, but that machine would really remove the old line in a hurry! I'm gonna have to try it!
