Throttle handle for Honda 10HP 1985 vintage

While out and about today the Honda kicker throttle handle got broken when it hit / connected with the transom handrail. Handle is now two pieces. Can this be welded or brazed and will it hold? Or do I need to find a new or used handle? The cable, rubber handle you twist and all else seems OK. Just the base handle that flips up and down.
