Default Grand Ronde Slamfest!!

Just got back from a 3-dayer at the Grande Ronde, and we absolutely hammered the fish!!

Took two boats down, seven guys, and we were all very successful (well some more than others ).

Day 1 - 3 steelies in our boat, 5 in the other
Day 2 - 8 steelies in our boat, 5 in the other
Day 3 - River was frozen!!

Of the 21 fish we caught, only 10 were hatchery, but that's not important. Most were caught on either plugs or corkies/yarn, but a few on spoons also.

If you dare brave the Rattlesnake Grade and long drive, it's well worth it to fish in absolute serenity without the bother of others.

Nice report. Did you get any picks? I love the colors of those fish.

The fish are definitely slim by the time they make it to the mouth of the wallowa. I used 6 pound test to make it more of a battle.

I try to get to troy but the roads are very dangerous going down and back up. I want to give it another try so if you ahve any advice of when just let me know

It was either raining or snowing terribly, so we didn't get any pics. We actually took some video footage fighting fish, but I'm not sure how to set that up to view here. I'll look into it.

rola76,

Can you tell me what the best flow level is to drift the river near the OR/WA boarder. I need to go but would like some info on the flow level.

Thanks,
Steelie King
