Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
My brand new Moultrie M40 was taken from the Yachats. I just got this camera and this was the first time I had it out. I set it up in the Williamson Cr. that feeds into the N. fork of the Yachats in a little meadow. Stolen during first season rifle elk. I had a note inside the camera asking that if you found it, please respect it and leave it alone, along with my name and phone number, and a good luck with your rifle season. Just sucks that there are guys, hunters at that, that would do this to another fellow hunter. I work my butt off all year checking my cameras, hiking into holes that alot of guys only do during hunting season, to help my chances of being successfull. This guy probably wont even get the use out of it like i would becasue he is probably too lazy to work hard for it. If anyone hears anything please PM me. Hopefully my old camera is still out in the woods, i havent had time to check it. If you are reading this, i left you a thankyou note where the cam used to be.

That stinks!!!!!
That is SAD!!.. Really makes you hate people. Guess they can not read, other wise they would have left the trail cam alone. That would be the first clue.. Low I.Q. does not know how to read. Sad part, was hunting Or poaching!.
It's one of our Worst Fears, running trail cam's Human stealing them.
IT not onlly hurts you, hurts Rest of us. We feel your pain in the loss, knowing the fun they are.

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
Dammit Rick! I hate hearing that..... probably the one reason why I don't have my camera out on the tree farm anymore That is just a plain shame. Hopefully, someone knows someone who knows someone and it'll show up.
Keep your hopes up buddy...... One can only think you caught something on film they didn't want you to see

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
That really stinks. I almost had the same thing happen. When I went to pick mine up, the unlucky "human" varmit was actually trying to pry mine off of the tree it was locked too. It could have been ugly, 2 guys with loaded guns in their hands.... Ultimately, I got my camera, he got an ear full all the way back to his vehicle. He probably didn't understand a word I said anyway (he didn't look like he spoke english).

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
Magnum your a better man than I am. I have had cameras stolen and shot off of trees. Ive gotten to the point were I feel like Ive been rewarded for coming back to find my camera. Its really rediculous. It almost seems as though you have to go five miles into the timber just to get your equipment back. Ive started engraveing "this camera was stolen from _____" in the housing so atleast if they try to sell it the buyers will know the sellers a thief. I could only imagine how it feels to have a cuddyback or one of the high dollar models stolen. You should have tied him to the tree so he could see whats going by since he's too cheap to buy his own.

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
Damn Rick, that just bites in a BIG way!!!
Well guys, the Ifish buddies helped me out a year ago when the scumbags stole my first Cuddeback. So I think it's only fair that I help out a brotha trailcam contributor.
I have $20 I can earmark to help replace Rick's new Moultrie. How about it guys?

Soolaw don't know ya but that sucks, especially this time of year just before the holidays. Not that anyone should ever take someone elses stuff. I'd be happy to donate some $$$ - I'm sure it helps with the hunting gods anyway right?? I will PM you Rauly thanks

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
They are not fellow hunters.
The only reason some of these guys are still walking the earth is that it is illegal to kill them.

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
These are the posts that keep me out of the game. It's not just the camera -- it's the TIME spent selecting a spot and checking on it, and it's the MONEY for the fuel to get there.

I actually have him on my camera the day before I met up with him, as well as, the same morning of our meeting.
I always swore to myself that if I ever caught someone steeling/damaging my camera that it wouldn't be a happy ending for the culprit, BUT, 2 loaded weapons have a tendancy to change one's perspectives. A camera isn't worth losing a life over. It could have easily ended in a bad way for one or both of us, but it didn't. Now if we were both un-armed, then it might have come to some fists flying but I value my life & freedom so It just ended up with a lot of word bashing. I felt better afterwards & ultimately, I still own my camera.

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
man i think its great that people would actually contribute their own money to help me out. My fiance got a little teary eyed when i showed her this thread. I am a little overwhelmed. Some of you have never met me and thats a great gesture from all of you. SKEIN- my trail cam addiction does take up alot of my time, but its what i love to do. I enjoy finding the perfect spot somewhere in the dark canyon bottoms, just to see what is lurking around. The whole time its out there, i am thinking of it, wondering what critter has walked by it, hoping a booker buck or bull just might show his self. It would be scary to add up all the time and money i have spent on this addiction over the last two years....better than spending my money on a drug addiction an ways! Once again guys, thanks alot. I do see the trailcam thread as a brotherhood between the guys that visit the thread and i post my better pics on there so everyone can enjoy see beautiful animals in their natural environment, and its pleasing to me to know that some guy sitting behind his computer across the state, that cant get out in the woods as much as he likes too, can dream about his next hunting experience while staring at one of my pics!!

Re: Trail Cam stolen in Yachats
I've been considering buying a trail cam. Then I thought about, pot growers, brush/mushroom pickers. I guess I'll Purchase one when I'm done buying gear for the boys. Too bad about your cam.
