Re: hallibut hill
I doubt anyone is going to give you their numbers for halibut, but have you tried looking at a Bathometric Chart? You can usually tell where the hali. reside from this chart.

Re: hallibut hill
If you use the search feature and spell halibut correctly as in Halibut Hill Numbers, you'll find all sorts of posts.
From one of Sealicious's posts halibut hill is at

Big butts for some and no butts for others at halibut hill 45:35 124:29...last weekend...you can't miss the boats if you get to those numbers.

Re: hallibut hill
Sorry..I didn't mean to be rude. The dogs are always willing to help. I don't fish Halibut Hill or else I would help you if I could. If you ever make it up to Washington, I can help.
I understand why people don't post numbers (further explaining my comment "I doubt anyone will give you their numbers) and that is why I made the comment.
1. Depending on which bank or structure/area you are fishing. Posting numbers can lead to overfishing and then lead to no fish for you.
2. People take pride in being able to find their own spot and don't care to share it after they spend a lot of time and money in doing so.
3. Anybody can see the post on this forum, not just the Salty Dogs. Some guys don't care to contribute to someone that doesn't contribute to the forum.
Posting numbers for tuna is different than posting numbers for halibut. Halibut hang out on structure. Tuna hang out on chloro and SST lines and that changes day to day.
Good luck to you. Hope you find the halis.

Remember this isn't the main board we are still share numbers here. It's a big ocean and pointing someone to a general area isn't going to hurt.

Re: hallibut hill
Seriously, you don't need #'s to find Halibut Hill...just follow the line of Boats on any given open all depth Halibut day, you don't even have to know how to spell Hallibut, or Sealicious.

I didn't say it would hurt. I am just providing reasons why people may not share numbers. I know that is why, in the past, people have not shared with me. I fully accept their decision. it is there choice. BUT I will help a DOG any day!
Whats wrong with the main board? I stick to the salty side so don't know much about the main board.

Re: hallibut hill
Yup, halibut hill is not a secret. People will easily give out numbers there. If you go be prepared for 750-900 foot bait checks. Now near shore halibut numbers are definately hard to come buy but there really is no super concentration of halibut near shore anyways. That is unless someone wants to give me numbers and prove me wrong.

Lets just say there is the occasional threat of bodily harm for sharing info about salmon/steelhead holes.
And it's not just the sts guys, the bass guys tend to take their favorite fishing holes to the grave as well. Though the impression I get, and it's just an impression, is that they are far more willing to share their info provided they are certain you're a catch-and-releaser as well.
