late season bow

while i was elk hunting sunday morning i saw huge 3pt with probally a 14-16 inch spread and proball close to 20 inches tall chaseing around a doe...
too bad a rifle hunted this year!!!

I assume you're referring to the late season Blacktail hunt in Oregon?

I'll probably go bang some bones and try to coax a ruttin' buck into recurve range. Then again I might just go photograph some swell necked toads?

Well I suppose since its my first year with a bow I will have to go out and chase some cow elk - and maybe find a slow dumb one! Hope they are slow anyway - good luck for those lucky to be hunting bucks!!

I hunted this weekend with a couple of friends and we saw a total of about 5 deer. This is after seeing lots of deer throughout the fall up to this point. I talked to a guy who hunted a ranch about 20 miles north of us and he saw 12 bucks on Saturday. I don't know quite what to make of that. Last year on opening day of the late season I saw 13 bucks on the ranch I hunted this year. I guess that's the way it goes. I'll probably be back out there this coming weekend. I hope the activity picks up a bit cuz I'm out there for more than just the scenery.
