I took this bull in the Walla Walla in 2006, saw a couple bigger ones too - after my tag was filled of course,

I will have to get a photo of my buddies 358 bull out of Weneha. He was hunting with a guide and one of the other guys took a 404 bull. He said it was a hunt of a life time. He's in good shape, but they plain wore him out in 4 days.

Was that a rifle hunt Rank? Those were some good size antler numbers.

Yep, it was the rifle tags. He said he saw over 20 bulls during the four days he hunted. Sounds like they were in some nasty ground. If you got caught out after dark, you stayed, it was too dangerous to navigate in the dark. My friends bull would have scored higher but it had a broken tine. 500 yard shot. Had chances at other bulls at longer range, but my friend said 500 was his limit.

Here's my Weneha bull. Hit him in both lungs at 10 yds. Stopped him with a cow call at 15 yds. He looked right at me for about 3-4 seconds and went down cartwheeling to rest right between me and ace Herdbull caller BJH. The antlers are awesome (check out the groove in the close sword pt.) but look at all that meat! His head, neck etc. were huge. Two miles uphill - what a pack, three trips for both of us

This is a picture from another hunting only related website named after a deer. Supposedly these are 2nd season Oregon bulls - if thats true those are some nice elk for Oregon. Anybody know anything about these guys??

The action was great, no small bulls at all. We learned lot about hunting big bulls. I hope and pray it stays the same and really wish odfw would stop the spike hunting. What a bummer to finally draw and have a bunch of spike hunters calling bulls everywhere you go!

I also saw that post on monster muleys. When I draw my tag for the area I would expect bulls of this caliber. I wont be applying for wenaha or walla walla though, I am going for Mt. emily tag.

Oregon does have some bruiser bulls, its just so hard to draw a tag and even then you mostly have to hunt them when they are shutting down for winter, so it can be a tough hunt, unless of course you draw an archery tag. It should come as no suprise to someone that bulls like this are around, they just live in some of the steepest nastiest most inaccessable areas around.

check out those dark antlers, big timber country bulls for sure!

IMO, these big oregon bulls comming from the Northeast part of the state of some of the finest character and antler coloring anywhere...

Traks,
You think those might be Mt Emily bulls? If so then those are some serious bulls!

Here is what the thread stated....

"The guys are from Eugene Oregon. The unit they hunted in only takes 2 points to draw. Packed in about 12 miles, on their own, no guides..."

I dont know either men and do not know where they killed the elk, but in those three units (wenaha, walla walla, Mt. emily) I know they all carry the same or close to the same caliber of bulls. I was actually looking at a few last night that were looked very similair to those except they werent 7's. probably in the 325-350 range.

I have seen a picture of a fellow holding a matching set of 380 elk sheds and the single to a 400 bull. I wont say the unit but they do exist in Oregon though obviously not as much as some other states.

Amen to that. I haven't even hunted any of those units yet but it still makes me mad that they allow that on those premium hunts.

Probably not Sled since it's spike only for second season. My guess would be Chesnim. You can draw that with 2 points in the bank and it's runs during second season.

Common guys what are we all talkin about here, everyone knows that the ATV's are ruining the hunting all over Oregon and there are no big bulls here in Oregon either.

Get off the Flat ground and chase some big stinkies!!

Best post this year!!!

We had guys come in on us and bump bulls we were hunting over two miles into the wilderness that did not have a big bull tag.

Sticknstring...you look mighty familiar! LOL

I think I helped you hang that MONSTER on your wall! I've never been nervous hanging one up.
