Default Mouth of Cowlitz help

I'm heading to the Columbia tomorrow. It's the last time I'll be able to fish before a three week business trip. My thought was to try the mouth of the Cowlitz area because the posts from 205 and Frenchman's bar are pretty spotty and I've heard a few rumors. I've fished the area once in the past and had a good day. As I recall we were in close to 50' of water and it got red hot right as the tide was dying. Where is the best launch. I hear that parking at Rainier is next to impossible. Is it reasonable to launch at Goble and run down or is there something better on the Wa. side. Any replies from an area pro would be helpful. We'll be in a well used 20' Trophy and would love to meet some of you

Hey Salmonlips,
I've never had any trouble finding parking at the Rainier launch. Just gotta be there at 4:00 am.
The problem I have with the Rainier launch, is when we're trying to take out. With the limited dock space, sometimes it's hard to even drop off a guy to go pick up the trailer. There's a small dock/walk way just up from the launch. I think it's part of the tug company. Have never been told that I couldn't use it to drop someone off. (no tying up) haven't checked it this year - don't know. I take 2 hrs vacation time, and leave work at 3:00am. Finding myself about 3-5 boats back in line. I just don't like the 75 minute drive when local Portland area is doing well. Good Luck!
