Floatilla III --- An idea
I'm posting this new since the other "Floatilla III" thread is getting pretty long. There is one approach that has been tried very successfully before and the group may want to do it for this event.
Years ago we had our "Relax 'Til You Drop" event every year on the North Fork Lewis in mid-October. Here is how is could work for the Ifish group.
Everyone parks at the golf course at first light and the sleds put in there. Easy to find. Drift boats can either put in there and fish the lower river or put in at the hatchery upriver (north side), or across at the Cedar Creek launch, or at the new Haapa Access about a quarter mile down from Cedar Creek. From there it is a calm fish-filled float of about 2-3 hours back to the golf course take-out. At noon everyone meets back at the golf course for lunch at the new restaurant.
Those interested in playing golf in the afternoon set up a calcutta at lunch and tee times start at 1 PM. A scramble works well. Jennie can run the refreshment golf cart if she doesn't want to play.
After 18 holes of golf everyone gets together again for some serious partying, awarding of prizes, raffles, etc. at the restaurant again.
Believe me, this is a full day of fun. If you do it this year it will become an annual event. If you decide to do this and need phone numbers for the golf course, etc., just let me know. I'll be in Alaska on the 6th of October but there are plenty of other Ifishers here who can help with the arrangements.
