2 smelt in 8 dips huh? I guess I figured I wasn't going to waste a good road trip, we (wife and I) got three or so Lbs. in two and a half hours. The smelt were all very small and all male.

Good upper body work out and I got enough bait for tomorrows sturgeon trip.

Seriously though, don't waste you time unless you just need some good exercise.

WOW...2 smelt for 8 dips huh! Glad I changed my plans and fished the Wilson with my buddy this morning rather than making the trek up to Kelso for dipping!

I'll second the night netting. It's always been the ticket for me. May try to go this weekend.
