Re: Hope this was not you...
Seems like simple enough rules to follow...
Geemany, I can't believe what some people do.

That just sucks.
On the lines of "hope it was not you"...
Second week of the season out at B-10, this guys was creeping up from behind us and a little bit port, trolling. Going just a little faster and gaining on us. He was by himself and fiddling around with bait rather than driving. He saw us, but just looked annoyed that he was going to have to get back to the wheel here in a second. Well, he gets right up on our butt, and we were telling him to back the heck off because he was getting REAL close to our gear. Well, he finally throws his stuff down and takes the wheel. I think he was trying to hit reverse to back off, but guns it into forward! He looked shocked, and wrenched the wheel. His bow was basically over our aft while turning back to the left...missed our hull by literally inches. Of course, all our gear is wrapped in his prop. He procedes to keep it gunned for another 100 yds before stopping (we are about out of line). He looks back, waits till we cut our lines. Doesnt wave, yell sorry or NOTHING, then just takes off so we cant get the # of his boat....I am a pretty mellow fella, but I was seeing RED.
I'd love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eye. Never saw him again. Lets just say if we saw him, "we would have some words".
Still lookin.....

Hope this was not you...
A friend and client of mine came into the shop yesterday for an estimate to repair his Explorer. He had been down on the Clackamas checking out the Coho and stealhead scene.
Seems David parked a little close to one of five other vehicles there. So this idiot fisherman comes up and sees this and proceeds to kick in the drivers door of Davids Explorer twice. Fortunatly, there were witnesses to the criminal mischief and the police were contacted.
David is a fine quality young man that does not have a lot of money to waste on jerks like this. What a doeball idiot this guy is. Just glad I did not see this. He would have some serious problems after a little chat with me.
There is never any excuse for this kind of crap from fishermen. I you are ticked with someones parking job, leave a note for them, not a $1,000 repair bill. No class!
Guys and gals, the Clackamas is going to recieve a lot of pressure on the silvers this year. Try to be a courteous as possible out there. Don't just walk in to a spot without asking parties if they mind. Be helpful if they get a fish on. Time your casts. Pick up your trash! If you get your limit, leave. Don't kick dents into other peoples vehicles. Don't block driveways in the neighborhoods.
Do catch lots of fish!!!!!!!

Re: Hope this was not you...
Well my friend, sorry about your bad day. It only takes one or two jerks to mess up the whole trip. But sooner or later it will come back to bite 'em in the butt.
Reminds me of last fall coho season. My Jeep got broken into. Alarm went off - they took off. As they tried to drive off, they got nailed in the side by an F350 truck. They ran off in to the woods and were never caught. Stolen car??? don't know. But check this out. The drivers door was centering the steering wheel. If the jerk that broke in to my Jeep didn't have a broken leg, he at least had a bruse about 3ft long.
Yeah, my window cost $100 bucks to replace, but he paid, trust me he paid dearly for it.
Hope your next trip goes much better!

Re: Hope this was not you...
What a creep. Seems like there are several people out there that think the only answer is to "Show them" and they pull stuff like that. If the police were notified, did they get the jerk? If they did, then lets get the name and get it on Ifish. If several of the members see the name of a neighbor or someone they know, it might embarass them or their family enough to stop that action from happening again.
Maybe a judge might just give him community service and require that he pick up two tons of garbage along the river. Give him thirty days to do it or jail time. Might make him think.
Do I sound vindictive? You D____ right I do. This kind of jerk doesn't need to be around the river. He doesn't deserve to have the privlege of fishing. In olden days, I would have cast him to the dragons. So much for my spiel.

Re: Hope this was not you...
I hear ya buddy
A few years ago two fishermen caught two guys braking in to their car. Just beat the snot out of them...bummer he he he he he
later I spoke with the police, they said that you can use what ever force messasary to bring them in. It would be a shame if they where to fall down a few time before coming in. Yep a darn shame
