Wow, that's a tough loss for sure! I hate to hear of such things happening.
Be sure to check and see if your vehicle registration, insurance info and any other Identification items may also be missing. Those can prove to be even more costly to you than the loss of all your hunting gear.

That is a tough hit!

Episodes as this are exactly why I never leave guns, optics or handheld electronics in my rig. I take them inside when at home or hotel - the big$ stuff is always with me.

I feel for you.

Thanks you guys.

In 50 years of going hunting I've probably put my gun in the truck 3 or 4 times the night before. Because I was headed out at 3:45 I thought it wise to load up last night. What a du*% a## I was.

My neighbor across the street had his explorer stolen last night.

Arrghh.

Sorry Man, I had that same thing happen last year. Do check Craigslist there was a similar gun posted shortly after mine was stolen, but the seller never responded to my e-mails. You have to act quick because craigslist dosn't allow the sale of guns on there site so they get pulled fast.

Daryn

I just checked for you, nothing listed on clist.

Sorry to hear about that; also check the pawn shops in SE. Make sure you bring anything you can to prove possesion (gun box), and call the police immeadately, and wait at the store if you do find it. I think that if you can prove possesion, they have to release it to you right than and there.

If you go hunting in an area and it is good hunting you go back there. These idiots are driven by their insane need for more drugs. I wonder if a trail cam might come into play.

NFG!

Sorry to hear about your loss. A while back a friend of mine put all his gear in the truck for an early morning deer hunt - rifle, pack, etc... Then he started the truck to let it warm up while he got a cup of coffee to go. You guessed it - somebody jumped into the truck and stole it AND all his gear! He never saw any of it again. %$#@!*&^$ Thieves!

If you have anything that is easy to id look on Ebay - Found TWO "Fast Cash" type stores in my area selling stuff that was stolen from me two full years after it was stolen, they had keep it stuffed away until they thought it was long enough, I just keep searching E-bay then Bam one day there it was, I had a couple unique items so that made it easier, also make sure if you have something like that, that you give a very detail id to Police, I called the Locals as soon as I found it on E-bay and with the Case number they handed it back right in front of the Store owners.........Lot of luck, just let me catch one of them one time, bam fire up the backhoe. Were they able to catch the thieves? If it were a pawn shopt they should have records of who sold it to them right? Same thing with E-bay they should be able to catch them. What happened in your case.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I feel your pain. I had my truck stolen with almost all my gear in it years ago while I was on a scouting trip. I was gone about 3-4 hours and walked back to where my truck was with my 12 gauge in my hand. He's lucky he was gone in time. I hadn't been that angry before in my life.
Wheres the little emoticon guy shooting the thief........guess I'll have to settle for the cheers one

Another thing to do if your not into checking e-bay or craigslist everyday is setup a google alert. http://www.google.com/alerts?hl=en type in your info, and anytime a matching item shows up it will email you. (checks craigslist nationwide daily, and everywhere else...) Free

Oh man that BITES! Jimbo & I were broke into at the boat launch the day after Christmas.

Guys, write that S/N down on the back of your hunting licenses.
When we're roaming the gun shops, pawn shops & gun shows lets see if we can locate it for him.

I feel your pain! Yep day after Christmas my Explorer had it's front passenger window smashed in and I/we were robbed. They took Mike's power converter, my radar dector, a pair of jeans & shirt and the the one that hurt the most was they took my registration & proof of insurance.

Identity theft can hurt way more than a couple of hundred bucks of gear and the hassel to replace a few documents. I put a credit hold on my SS#, called my bank, CC companies, and filed a report with LOE.

What's load is best for ******** and what is the limit thses days?

Last week Salem's finest did a major drug bust in Gervais and recovered lots of stolen property. They have encouraged folks to call their number 503-540-8079 and report what they have lost. You'll need the case number and other info.

Well I wouldn't go that far. It's only a few hundred bucks that can be replaced. What you describe....well that is a totally diffrent thing, but I understand what you are getting at and it does suck.
