Alpen Optics?

I have a coupon for 45% off any Alpen Optics product, and would really like to get a nice pair of binoculars. Has anyone bought something from them, (scope, binos)? If so, how do you think they compare to other brands?

We field tested them a few years back. I acutally liked their glass, especially in their compact spotting scope...but durability was an issue and low light wasn't the greatest.

I would compare them to mid-range bushnell quality and but not as good as Leupold's Windriver imports.

If you ever get a coupon from burris, their signature series are good. I say that because our banquets often gets coupons from them. I honestly think the Windrivers are a very good value, unless you can spend 1000$...

A good friend of mine bought a pair and he really likes them. He went to Idaho to chase some elk this year and he said that they performed well.

I took a BOW (Becoming an Outdoorswoman) shotgun clinic last month, and each participant got a 45% off coupon from Alpen Optics.

I have looked thru a pair of Alpens (10x42) a few times while scouting (one of the guys i hunt with has a pair) they seem to be decent, the only thing i didn't like was the outside edges seemed hazy. For the price he paid, they seem pretty decent.
