Default Youth License - Under 14

Youth licenses for kids under 14 years of age are free. However, for kids under 18 they are required to have a Juvenile combined harvest tag ... Has anyone had trouble getting one of these tags issued? I went to 2 Fred Meyer stores and one GIJoe and couldn't find a clerk who was capable of doing it. Arrrgghhhh!

Go to F.M. Oregon City. My son is 6, they had no problem providing a salmon tag.

OK, here's the story. There are just some ODFW license merchants that don't know what they're doing. The ODFW office was clearly frustrated that this would be a problem ... if someone doesn't know how to do it, ask to have someone else give it a try.

The only trouble I had was trying to get a tag for someone else's kid. They demand to have a social security #. Make sure you know the number.

Makes for a good story now, but it was stupid at the time.

Joes and Freds should not be a problem - talk to their supervisor. Anyone working the "service" counter should have a clue. Offer to do it yourself - it's all point-and-click ...

BiMart on Woodstock Blvd....They know what they are doing and no hassles.
The tip on the SS number is right, they ask first and if you don't have it, NO Liscence!

Pete,
Trying to get your daughter her first salmon this weekend? You are starting her out right. Between fishing and hockey, you can't go wrong.
