Default Holiday Dilemma; Where to go, Ocean or Columbia

Hope you folks can share some information on the latest salmon catching action in the ocean out of Warrenton and in the Columbia Portland area. Thinking of spending Saturday on the Columbia and heading to the ocean for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday fishing. Or maybe just stay around Portland? Seems a few folks are doing pretty well around Frenchmens, and I heard the action is picking up around Washougal. I see the counts are up over Bonniville, yet actions still a tad slow for such high numbers. Accordingly, maybe the fish are just running through the rivers warm water? Also heard there's a lot of salmon lollygagging in the ocean. With ocean fishing in the states high watch status and the continual changes in the catch regs I'm thinking fish the Ocean before its too late. I appreciate everyones input and thanks a bunch for helping me figure out my dilemma.

Ocean, Ocean, Ocean, Use Rotary Salmon Killers, Delta divers, and fresh herring from tackle time or any bait shop in the area. Then come in and get your two at bouy 10.

If I'm not mistaken...the ocean's closed for chinook. Mrs. Mission says "Hi" 'Lady'...

Hi to the both of you. Capin' Dan do you know if Chinook can be taken from the ocean? If so, how many? What combinations?
I'd really like to hit the ocean water this weekend. Here's a funny...last weeks lesson...stay away from the right side of the boat while crossing the bar in huge swells.....showered twice that day, haha.

FM, you know me too well...and yes I want to fish for the big ones as always.
Picking up a weekends limit worth of 10-15#ers from the OC smoke shop this week. The gentleman who waited on me said someone brought in a 37#er....was that yours?

You can keep a Chinook from the ocean but cannot fish inside bouy 10 with one in your boat. See the sports section of the Oregonian page C6 upper right corner for story.

Thanks for your replys. Potentially God has blessed me, however I'm upset about missing the seat on the FM. Too many meetings, too late to the phone. Jan we must out fishing the guys soon. Let me in on the schudule that works for us all and we'll show those boe's how to put a FEW big ones in the boat. At least we can give it our best. Whooops did I sound daring?????
Calls regarding week of 8/27 locally have been rather slack compare to our opportune ocean fishing. My conclusion based on time -vs- catching. Off to spend the weekend with cuz, and may the fish goddess hear my prayers for the boat to limit again.
Thanks again,
Gayle
