The Verboort Sausage Dinner is upon us!
For 73 years, the small community of Verboort (near Forest Grove) and Visitation School/Parish has come together the first Saturday each November to put on a Sausage Dinner. This is the single largest fundraising event of the year for the school.
 Staggering facts about this year's dinner :
Nearly
15 tons of Sausage will be served and sold
Same goes for
400 gallons of Sauerkraut
10,000 dinners expected to be served
All food is grown, and the sausage is ground, in/around Verboort
More details about the dinner:
2007 Dinner Ticket Prices
Adult = $15.00
Seniors (62+) = $14.00
Children (12 and under) = $7.00 Dining Room Only
All “Dinners to Go” = $15.00
When should I buy my tickets?
When visiting us for dinner, we recommend that you buy your dinner tickets when you arrive, then take the opportunity to take a stroll around our grounds and beneath the 130 year old giant Sequoia trees. You can also buy handicrafts ranging from homemade candy to hand sewn quilts. All proceeds from our dinner go to assist in the operation of Visitation School.
When should I get in line?
We open the doors for bulk Sausage and Sauerkraut sales at 9:00 am, although the lines begin forming as early as 6:00 am. We usually sell out of available bulk sausage so if this is important to you, you should plan to arrive early. (before noon)
What's included in my dinner?
Dinner includes: Sausage, Sauerkraut, green beans, potatoes/gravy, salad, roll/butter, applesauce, and lemon or apple pie.
Did I hear someone say beer garden?
Yes, a beer garden is available at the nearby Verboort Rod & Gun Club. Shuttle bus service runs continuously, and dinner ticket numbers are announced on location so you know when to return for dinner. Minors are not allowed at the beer garden or on the shuttle bus.

If I was on my way home from fishing or hunting Saturday (instead of volunteering in the 'Dinners to go' area), I would definitely swing through for a plate of this homegrown, homemade comfort food. Don't miss it!
