Default Weekly fly tying in Alsea

Hey guys, I know most of you are not close to the Alsea/Corvallis area, but I thought I would throw this out anyways.

I'll be packing up some of my stuff and headin down to Debs Kountry Kitchen in Alsea (girlfriend is the evening cook thereumpkinat least once a week to drink coffee and replentish the box for winters. Anyone want to join, let me know days/times that would work best for you. Tuesdays look best for me, sometime after 5 pm.

Would be fun to meet some new folks and share patterns and stories:Christmas:

Man... I work Mon-Thurs evenings in C-town otherwise I'd be there. Bummer
I would have loved to see some of your secret flys. What do you tie other than skrunks and lifters? Last year I did great with just a bright red egg pattern (chenille egg with chartreuse but).

Take care

Cmon, TZ, take a night off and go tie some flies!

Twitch, I'd probably be in for some fly tying at Debs, keep me posted. I assume that our lumberjack friend, Tyler, would join us also.

How many weeks are you going to be down there? I can see a trip towards the end of November...

Andy K, I live here (well, at the hatchery) so I'll be doing it for as long as people are interested.

The only reason I am shooting for earlier in the week is because some nights (wed-fri) on my duty week, I cannot leave the grounds, so would be unable to go into town. I could do it later in the week on my non-duty weeks if that would work better for TZ, and any others.

Grant, flies do not work for steelhead. Don't even waste your time. Spinners and gooey bob globs of eggs are the only way to get'em.

I would be up for tying a couple nights when the steelhead start coming in...I could hit up the Alsea than replenish the box.

OK, this is getting serious :-) .... I think I might have to call in sick. Just let me know a week in advance and I'll do my best to get there. I need to learn how to tie one of these days. haha

Twitch,

I'm kinda new to ifish... but not fly fishing. I'm over in Cval, and I fish the Alsea more than any other river during the winter, and you can plan on me stoppin' in to shoot the poop with ya... if nothin' else just to show off some steel!

I could do it this tuesday if people want to start getting things tied up!

Let me know if anyone is down for tomorrow, and I'll plan on heading in after work.

Any night other than Tuesday this week for me guys,

Anyone want to head over?
My girlfriend usually makes the next days batch of cinamon rolls the night before, so they'd be good with coffee, and fresh for us!....sticky fingers and feathers.... good times!

It will be a last minute decision for me... depending on how busy it is at work. I have a bag of tying stuff in the car.

How late are you planning to stay?

They're HERE...

so, anyone up for it tomorrow? Today, I took the largest steelhead I have ever seen or handled on the Alsea out of our upper trap. I'd bet my paycheck it was pushing #18. ! It was a true, alsea traditional stock hatchery fish. In the trap with it was a #16 platinum chrome wild buck...

I'll be at the Debs Kountry Kitchen around 5:30...ANyone, come on, fish the day, Debs for dinner and tying up what was lost...
