Default Braided & Mono

How do you splice hi-vis braided line to mono leader? Is it as simple as a barrel swivel?
Would a swivel change the action of a plug?
Am I thinking too much?

Thanks in advance

Mike

Yes it can be that simple. But, that depends on the length of leader that you want to run.

There are ways to tie both together Ie. blood knot or Bimini to albright.

For simplicity sake yes the barrel swivel will work or even a bead chain inline.

No it does not hurt the action of the plug.

A double Uni knot is easy to tie and does not slip.

Currently I am not running a braided line on my plug/diver-n-bait rods (plan to switch for this springer season) but I always run a barrel swivel above a plug. If you fish where there is debis in the water the barrel swivel will catch most of it before it can get to the plug and foul its action. I have not found that the barrel swivel has any affect on the plugs action at all. When I switch to baided this season I will definately use a barrel swivel to transition to mono for both my plug rods and my diver-n-bait rods.
