the siletz yesterday
howdy all fished the siletz yesterday after the latest rains and picked up two nice kings a 35lb buck and a 28lb hen both were loaded with sea lice and i suspect came in that morning.T-50 flatfish /sardine wrapped did the trick here's a pic of the hen I caught my fishin pardner caught the 35lber his first, guess who forgot the camera and wasnt able to capture the moment on film yup that be me [img]images/icons/blush.gif[/img]

Nice fish!
I think I saw you guys over there yesterday. I was in a driftboat, trolling herring. There wasn't much else going on. Were you guys there in the afternoon or morning? The guys I talked to picked one up early in the afternoon just west of Coyote Rock, by the big rock wall on the corner.

that was me we picked up the second just after you went around the corner,glad to have met ya buzzo even if it was trollin bye holler at me the next time your on the water I would like to meet more of the ifish clan

Is your boat a Sea People sled with a windshield? If it is I met you on the Siletz a couple years ago.
Nice nooker. I wish I could et over that way and attempt to get some.

sorry about the delay in getting back to ya I'm on the graveyard shift right now (got to love it! argh! willie rower yes that would be my boat dang I'm sorry but i dont remember when we met we should get together sometime and get some fish same goes for buzzo looks like i might try it this thursday/friday with friday being the better tide day at least for fishing flatfish .I was told that the last three days 3 fish at or over 40lbs were brought in at siletz moorage .I'm thinking its going to be good the next few weeks.there just now starting to show up in any #'s and its going to do nothing but get better boy I sure love this time of the year [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] see ya on the water RJ

Hey i think ill give it a try there this weekend. Ive never fished salmon before, just learning. Are you useing a dropper wieght to get down there with your flatfish? Or are you trolling? Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated! thanks, sean

you can play around with the drop generally i will run a 40 inch drop with 6 feet of leader to flatfish.the real key in my opinion is the bait wrap.I have some super fresh monteray bait(sardines) that are really oily good luck RJ

I think you had justgotten your boat when I met you. It was still nice and shiney. I was in a black willie and I made a comment about your boat being a Sea People.
I know all about graveyard shifts, Im going on 5 yrs of 12 hour night shifts.....YUCK!!!!

willie some time email me a pic of your boat and hard top ,god i miss my old hard top on my 20ft seapeople they sure are sweet someday i'll have one on this sled ,but the last quote kinda spooked me nockin on 4 grand [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]
