Where to go tomorrow? Early or late

Going out tomorrow with a kid that has never caught a fish and want to show what he has been missing. His dad never took the time to teach him the greater values of fishing. I want to fish the afternoon tide. Should I be concerned with the afternoon winds? See you out there? Will be in a metal boat with red painted deck and a strange anchor mount on the bow. It's about 18" high and provides a distenctive look.
