Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
A group of us are headed to Crescent Lake tonight and will be there through Sunday. I'm hoping the nice weather & full moon won't spoil the fishing too much. If you are up that way, say hello.

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
The fishing wasn't terrible. Between 3 serious anglers, over two days, We managed 10 or so Browns ranging from 20 to 24 inches. 99% of the fish were caught from legal fishing time to the time the sun hit the water. After that, it shut down because it was bright, sunny, and no wind to speak of.

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
Hi Mark,
Its been a while - how are you doing?
I need to get up there this year. Still have not even seen the lake. This week is too busy but next week I think I will get sick on Monday or Wednesday depending on the weather.
I figured you guys were having a tough day on Saturday. The wind was blowing pretty good in town on Sunday so I figured you would fish all day. No fish in the evenings? Too many adult beverages to get back out?
later,
Patrick

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
Hi Mark. Hi Patrick, so you finally have a post on this board too. I'm glad to see some reports from you Mark. You have the browns dialed in as well as anyone. If I was in Co, I would follow you around and learn something.
I am fishing mecca tomorrow since last day for trout. Coho are done on the Sandy but it's not too long for Winter steel in SW WA. Meanwhile, an OFC lake is producing big trout on dries. I need to fish with you guys next CO season.
Oops, I forgot, November is Chum month in WA. I love CO, but steel and salmon time is here around PDX.

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
Hi Patrick, Hi Mike, Hi Phil,
If I had the time I'd be spending every available day out there from now until the ramp is snowed in.
Unfortunately, I'm working out of the Eugene office 4-days a week with the new job and grad school is kicking my @ss right now so I don't have any idea when the next time I'll be able to go fishing.
Skip has the pictures. I still can't find my digital camera.
btw.
We should plan a trip to no-tellum creek about 1.5 hours S.E.
Mike,
I almost forgot.. Justin gave me your fly fishing jacket. I'll be back in Bend Friday. gimme a call and we can arrange a meet.

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
Phil, Yes, I decided I needed to join a third board (wf & jefferson). I don't check over here very often but, when I saw the Crescent post I figured it was time to join. I have wanted to fish up there for a couple years and I am determined to make it happen this year. Doesn't look like any good brown trout weather coming any time soon so I will just have to pick a day next week and give it a try. Going to be tough to convince the wife I need some non-daycare time. She thinks I should be done for the year after the Alaska trip .
Mark, I am always up for a trip to the SE. Subject to the usual constraints of not impacting the family unit. Sounds like it isn't any easier to make our schedules match these days unless you have some flexibility on your Bend work day.

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
Patrick,
The wind was only blowing in town.
I fished Sat with Brett, and Sun with Pond on Wick. It was flat glass both days, all day. I had planned on fishing until today. Came home Monday based on the weather forcast.
High light of the trip, Pond got his biggest Brown ever, And I got a token Bow that was about 23". Don't see them on Wick very often.

Re: Headed to Crescent Lake this weekend
Went SE yesterday. My success convinced Jeremy to finally tie a bugger on the end of his line. One of his first bugger fish

Lucky for him the mic on my little camera didn't pick up all his yappin. I caught a sick number of larger (at least for that stream) fish on a Michael style - big eyes and lots of lead - black bugger swung/stripped on a type 4 line. Little fish were rising the whole day too.
Thinking about suffering through a rainy day on Crescent Friday - any interest?
Patrick

Nice work....I've been thinking about that stream lately. A leadeyedbugger is always a good bet . Need to head that way soon. Bird hunting this weekend....
