Signing off for the weekend...
Going to Maupin tomorrow for trout, then out with NorRivDave Sunday for salmon. I'll submit pics of the salmon we hope to catch next week, as well as my lunch, if it makes an appearance.
Question though...is it better to go for fuller volume when tossing lunch, or go for distance?!? Just want to get the pic right.

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
Projectile Vomiting has always shown the most hutzpah as long as you go for maximum distance, and stand firm & straight on both feet during the process. Hewever it's a highly technical and risky maneuver because you can lose classiness points if get your new friends messy! Stand well downwind. You can however, score extra points for clearing important obstacles such as entire areas of the boat when you let it blow!
Good Luck.

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
While bottom fishing this spring on a charter out of Newport, one of the passengers got quite sick. The deckhand then shouted for everyone to hear: "That's what I like to see; pukin' and reelin'!
Talk about multitasking

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
Good news bad news.
Good news...didnt throw up this weekend.
Bad news...stayed up too late Friday, got up too early Saturday to fish the Deschutes all day. Got into bed too late Saturday night and...are you ready for this....NEVER HEARD THE F%&$*#@! alarm go off Sunday morning. COnfirmed, it was set for 3AM. Had the cooler, supplies, clothes, salmon tag, etc sitting by the front door.
Please dont pile on too bad...I am plenty ****** about that, and cant believe I did it. That is COMPLETELY unlike me. Something told me I was trying to do too much in a weekend that followed a rough week, but.... live and learn.
Dave...thank you for the opportunity...sorry I screwed it up. Hopefully that wont curse me from getting anymore offers to go out (be it on the ocean, Columbia, etc).
Ok, I gotta get some work done, cuss at myself some more, and then sulk.

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
Now, I haven't been around long enough to assign pennace, but I think a week of Texan/Texas/Jeff bashing is in order, followed by continuous grovelling for forgiveness. No defense, just good old fashion grovelling. Then possibly, an opportunity for redemption.
I'm sure you mom and/or fiance has already said, "Oh Jeff, How could you!"

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
Dear Ifish members,
I do hereby formally and officially apologize for such wreckless actions, resulting in my oversleeping for a fishing trip. While the aforementioned actions were an all day fishing trip on the Deschutes, that is hardly a sufficient reason to foresake the name of the almighty salmon, whom I have still not learned to worship. I throw myself at the mercy of the board.
How's that?!?

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
Cool Texan-
I missed out on 2 fishing trips with Timber Man as of late because of piling too many things on, and yet, having to feed this nagging addiction to fish all the **** time.
Well, he offered me a 3rd trip to join him on, and I must say that I was on time, despite the worst fog I've ever seen in my life, and I eventually had my first double-digit day out here.
Thanks Kev for not givin' up on a brotha.

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
I also wanted to add:
When taking a picture of projectile vomiting, you have to go for distance. Anyone can blow chunks, but a real man can throw that lunch further than the next guy.
Texans do get sick, and I have photo proof. Too many texas-styled bourbon and cokes for me, but I got my Dallas buddy with the 4 Horsemen. We have a photo of synchronized spewage over the rail off the porch to the beach house. Man that's classic; thanks for the memories!

Re: Signing off for the weekend...
That is SO LAME !
You can be excused if you were able to contact your host. If you left him hangin' at the dock ... lame lame lame.
I assume he granted you the 15-minute grace period and headed out anyway.
I'm sure all you missed was CATCHING SALMON
oh ... a Deschutes report is part of your penance !
