Default Ocean Salmon Closure

The Vancouver Columbian newspaper reports this morning, ocean salmon season off the mouth of the columbia will close some time next week. Also expect buoy 10 chinook retention to be closed, fishing for coho to remain open. Anyone have additional info??

If the ocean does close it would only be for a couple of days. There is a quota of 10,000 coho earmarked for a September ocean fishery. Maybe they would close it to chinook retention. I don't know about B-10 though, I haven't looked at the % of the guideline that's been retained.

I was told yesterday by WDFW that the Chinook fishery at Buoy 10 would be closing any day now.
