Default Need info on Coquille River

I'm heading to Bullards beach this next week. Anyone have a report for that part of the coast. I've seen them fishing for salmon and crabbing the bay in the past. Would appreciate any reports from the local ifish members in the Coquille/Bandon area. I'm interested in bank fishing if it's productive. May have the wife take a second vehicle to tow the boat.

Thanks in advance.

I fished the Coquille last week and it was slow. I did see one chinook come in at the State boat ramp at Bullards Beach. The fish wasn't big, but it was bright. I talked to several folks who were out fishing in the ocean and they told me the chinook were out out about 4 miles, in about 300' of water. I saw a charter boat in Bandon bring in several chinooks to include a 48 lbs. buck. I chose to stay in close and fish for bottom fish. That I might add was a blast!!!

Herring are hard to come by as they are everywhere right now. If you're traveling down 101, it would be worth a stop by Winchester bay. Umpqua Bait Co. has some fresh bait which I used when I was at Winchester Bay last Friday. The fishing at Winchester was much more lively than at the Coquille or the Rogue which I also found quite slow, at least for the fish catching.

hey, sorry for the delay, my new job has had me very busy this week..
the Coquille has been slow, and we havent seen the number of fisherman either.. I think the lack of quality bait has kept some people away.. I have been down on three different evening and have seen or caught fish every trip... so they are there.. the rain Wed/Thur should have cooled the water down.. I saw three boats at the coquille boat ramp tonight so that is a good sign. I am fishing tomorrow Sat and will post my report

Thanks for the report TH.

I'm heading out first thing Monday Morning. Packin home on Saturday. I won't be bringing my boat, So if you know of anyone in the area that would be willing to offer a seat or a guide I could call on let me know.

Are you only dragging bait, or is there much success on plugs or spinners?

we pull a spinner once and a while... and even a spinner bait herring rig, infact that chinook we caught yesterday was on a spinner bait herring (blue) rig..w/ a chart. and rainbow blade...
Not many people pull plugs...

Hey.... I will be in the dark green willie predator, say hello
