Default Bonneville Fish Ladder Re-Opening???

Does anybody have an idea as to when the oregon ladders on bonneville will re-open? I was told the fish will go to the washington side and go up that way, but I'm not sure whether or not that is the truth. Any info. would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Nehalem, I heard something on this today as well.

What I was told...."now im not saying I know", is some fish are holding below the dam for ladder to open.

Not sure what I think...but the bite "for me" has sure been off at the Hood River. Makes me wonder???

Its bad enuff that we put the damns in there but if we have more resource for those fish to get over the damn, why would they close them? Has to be a maintenence thing, I hope its something important. I sure wish I could see the Columbia go over the falls like my father saw when he was a kid. The family took a special trip up there to see it before it was filled up.

My friend was up there for an internship, and the guy he was with said the ladder was closed for cleaning and maintenance. I'm pretty sure the ladder has been closed for quite some time now. Which would explain the lack of fish in the oregon gorge streams. I heard next week it will be opening. If so, next weekend should be KILLER up there. Let's hope so. Whoops.... What I meant to say is the Pudding should be pumping out early springers!
I would love to be able to see Celilo Falls as it was a few hundred years ago. That would be a truly amazing site. Hopefully it will happen in my lifetime, and if not, hopefully in my children's.

No wonder we are not getting a springer over Bonneville yet.
