"Fishing" the Skokomish river seems to be a relative term. Alot has been posted about it on the PP board. I can tell you from past experience, it's NOT a relaxing day on the river there. LOTS of illegal activities, and general free-for-all attitudes are all around, both tribal and non-tribal. It is a small river with a series of deeper holes that the kings tend to stack in. They are easily targeted by snaggers, and finding willing biters can be difficult. I'm not trying to discourage you from fishing it, just letting you know maybe what to expect.

Good luck if you go.

Ran up to hoods port this am and crossed over the skokomish river.. About 15 cars parked at the bridge and about another 15 parked on the purdy cutoff road ..The water was running mud.. The indians are selling chinook caught in the nets for a dollar a pound ...Did not see any fish on

Default Skokomish Kings

Has anyone tried fishing the Skokomish River, my neighbor came home with some 15-20lb chinooks, Says he "can't remember" what river they came out of! He gave the general area away and the Skokomish is right there so I was wondering if anyone on the ifish board has fished the Skokomish lately.
