Default Record walleye?

Amidst 99pound 'nooks and 19-foot sturgeon, I have heard a rumor (really) of a new record walleye from below McNary on the Columbia. This whopper supposedly went 22.5 pounds.

Perhaps this query would be better suited to the B&P board, but more folks will see it here so ... anybody?

Sailcat,
I have not heard of this yet, but if it is true I sure would like to see that hog.

How about some feedback on how many salmon/steelhead smolts a 22.5lb walleye can cough up in the livewell? I'm told it happens fairly frequently. To bonk or not to bonk, that is the question.

I spoke with Pro Guide Jack Glass who took a 15-pounder (33" length, 19.5" girth) last Friday, but he couldn't confirm the 22+ pound fish.

He did mention that in cleaning them, he has found mostly chubs (*********) in their bellies and that they'll be feeding primarily on the small shad which are moving downriver now.

Hey, I did a quick search on walleye records and found a huge catch from Garibaldi that was denied record status.

LMAO! Great pic, chnookie.

Pete, did you read at the top of that site that those articles are published in a Fishing National Enquirer Magazine, or something like that. Can't believe everything you hear (or read). Maybe this was a true story, though?
