Default Clarification

Just so there is not a misunderstanding:

1) I am FULL of TX pride.
2) I am FULL of OR pride and call this state home, and dont have plans to leave.
3) I am EMPTY when it comes to knowledge regarding salmon/steelhead.
4) I am probably empty when it comes to the right gear to get those fish too.
5) I do not have a boat. I just bought a house, am getting married in November, am going to Fiji for my honeymoon, and then have the holidays...cash is not something i have a lot of excess of these days.

I have seen some helpful posts, and appreciate it, and have even received a couple emails regarding fishing tips, the BBQ (unfortunately the date changed and I am out of town that weekend...otherwise that could have been a good way to learn something), etc. and wanted to say THANK YOU for that. Hopefully someday soon I will also be boasting about catching 20-30 pound salmon, big steelies, etc.

Texan,
Congratulations on the wedding. Sounds like Fiji will be a blast. Don't worry about not having a boat. I fished from the bank for years before I bought a boat and have had good success. You will need to get the right gear to get started. Your in luck because this is the best year I've ever seen and I'm a native here. I would suggest investing in a book called "Fishing in Oregon". If your fishing from the bank, this will give you tons of information from location to timing of runs. Half of the fun is just exploring different places. Good luck. Brent

Is that a sarcastic offer, or a genuine one?!? Just figured I'd clarify.

I also got another offer from Robert (not sure of his name on here) to help me learn what I'm doing.

If you ever make it up to WA, I'll take you out fishing, either banking or catting. Don't worry about the catting around bit, I only have one and she's a 2 seater

I think about the only good thing ever come out of Texas was David Allen Coe, but George Strait ain't too shabby either. Of course Stone Cold Steve Austin hails from there too.

Where's the horns Private Cowboy?
