Re: There is water in the river!
Is it too early to bring alot of fish up into the coastal streams if we get enough rain? It seems like I had a really good day on the Salmon three or four years ago with an early rain, but that was the first week of September- swarms of chinook splashing over hatchery falls- amen.. HT

Re: There is water in the river!
Frustrating, cuz I bet there are fish up the Nehalem, but how to fish for them?
No bait restrictions till the 1st.
Check regs for specific rivers.

Where is the deadline for bait fishing on the Nehalem ? 101,Mohler,Roy Creek ? Have always fished all of tidewater. Has this changed ? Any info appreciated.

Re: There is water in the river!
Deadline-- Miami Foley Road Bridge.
Spinners? What are those, Tanner?
2.4 inches of rain, the river is up and muddy!
Driftable!

Re: There is water in the river!
We are going to top 4 inches pretty quick, if we continue raining till midnite.
It's simply amazing!
The Kilchis River has risen 2.3 feet.
There's gotta be fish comin soon!

Re: There is water in the river!
HT,
I remember that early ran over in september. It was 4 years ago. I was on the Salmon the day it dumped all that rain. I had to leave but my buddy cooned the chinook for 4 days afterwards. I bet there are enough fish now to make it worth a trip up there.
Ive been up in Kalama since sunday. Yesterday the fishing picked up for steelhead. This morning a guy brought in a steelhead and silver jack. The river was on the rise. Rumor has it there are a few silvers poking in. Last I heard they had trapped 124 chinook below Modrow bridge. This rain should be the kick off for the silvers. I will give a complete report next week. Pray for more rain!!!!!
