Default My day on the Sandy

Well........... it goes something like this. Started at pipeline this morning, quite enjoyed the walk. Especially made wonderful is the skunk it dished me. Saw a pontoon boat flip in the rapids, luckily the guy was fished out.
Went to Cedar Creek, enjoyed that walk as well. Didn't see any landed by the creek, so we waded across to the other side to try a couple other holes. Dang near mis-steped during my wade (not fun), during my fishing broke my brand new IM7 Buzz Ramsey, and was also skunked.
Hmm, new rod, or Tony's Fish Market for fresh salmon?

BTW: I think if my license money is going to improve the fisheries, why not install an escalator at the Eagle Creek hill?

True to that. The good Lord blessed me with sunshine, and fresh air. Not bad, but a fish to carry up the hill wouldn't been all that bad

We should all be so happy that the powers that be have got our rivers fishing so well with their broodstock programs going on the Clack and Sandy.

Give the program some time, if after 10 years and no improvements then we can be upset. I believe we will be pleansantly suprised.

The Sandy just isn't producing this year like it has in past years. I've been pretty much skunked this year, even under what I consider pretty good water conditions.

Oh well, February and March are my two favorite months for winter fish, maybe it will improve.

I hate optomists  but I will be one for today and say that I think the Sandy fish are not here yet. My experience is common to most of the rest of the post, fish here and there. I think that pods of fish are still moving through the river and if you are standing in front of a pod they are aggresive and you will do well, if not it doesn't matter what you throw cause there are no fish.

the sandy fish are there. i caught a nice native and a nice big broodstock last week when the river was on the drop. the water temp is around 40 deg. fish away from the crowds and you will be rewarded. winter fish don't like constant pressure. give a hole a few dozen casts and then move on if you can.
