Default WOOOOOSSHHHH goes the sound (whining post)....

......of diesel prices once again!!! First day under 50 degrees east of the Rockies, and the demand (real or implied) for home heating oil drives the price up?

Or is it back to one of those "unscheduled maintenace" issues at a refinery?

Crude is at a record again, and gasoline is up, yes, but not anything like diesel.

Either way, going from $2.90/gallon to $3.50+ per gallon in a matter of weeks is pure insanity. I know my rig will stay parked most of the time after the loser's bracket archery elk season. If it keeps going up, the winter sturgeon are going to be lonely as well.

Arrrggghhhh.

Whine OFF......

You can thank Turkey just a bit for the high oil prices.

ok, so 3 months ago diesel was $.30 under gas... now its $.47 over? Holy crap...at least stay consistent, I hate playing pump roulette when I go into town for fuel.

Glad I live at my work, and only start the truck when I go into town once a week or so.

I just quit worrying about it.

Headed to Hells Canyon next weekend and I am just not going to think about how much it's going to cost just in fuel. Staying home and watching tv is a crappy option.

So you are concerned with consistent pricing in our energy production costs,
yet you do not support R& D in our energy infra-structure?

Interesting...............

I fully support R&D for alternate fuel sources, give the tax breaks of big oil to the "other" industries and see where it goes. Tax some of the windfall profits of big oil and pay to convert the 7% of homes in the US which use home heating oil to natural gas.

Better yet, build more hydroelectric dams.

I just do not support reaming out rural areas simply so the denizens of the concrete jungle don't have to see the ugliness that is a forest of windmills or a sea of PV panels. They're not like a nuke plant, which should be built as far away from people as convenient.

I hear ya Kyle. My big rig is parked and I am driving my $500 2000 dodge neon to work and around town. Interesting how much $$$ I am saving. My truck is feeling lonely and I miss her. But there she will sit.

Ran her to the coast last weekend to reaffirm my carbon foot print. Pulled the big boat out of moorage and brought her home. Ouch said my wallet. Wish they made "nuclur" powered cars Just kidding Robin, sit back down.

I'll be reducing my carbon and financial footprint this winter but plan on making a reassertion of at least the carbon footprint once again this summer. The tuna will NOT be lonely I assure you.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. DRILL< DRILL. Drill!!!!! Gain independance from the middle east terrorist family sponcers.

Gas here in The Dalles went from $2.97 to $3.15 per gal. of reg. from yesterday to this morning. Any of you people who travel past The Dalles or the truck stop in Biggs do me a favor, Gas up somewhere else and do not support the yocal that has the service station monopoly in this area.

In bandon, it jumped from 2.93 to currently 3.09 (haven't looked out the window this morning) with diesel at 3.55.

Anyone know what the excuse for it is this time?

Wish i could say the same. Being a General Contractor i need my truck everyday and unfortunately i have to pass the cost to the clients. Now that diesel is between 3.40-3.50 in the beaverton area, just to fill my truck takes $110 of diesel. I have a 06 Dodge cummins and it needs to be filled weekly. It's nice when i don't have to make material runs and i can take the wifes car but that is less then once a week. How come bio diesel rises with the fluctuation of conventional diesel? If bio diesel was the same as it was in the summer, it would be cheaper then regular.

"THEY" claim it is do to the increase in the stocking of heating oil for the winter. Guess we need a global warming thing or something.....
