No longer a lurker
Wheeeeeee! I'm now a community member. I know this sounds corny but this is a very exciting event for me. I have been a long time fan of ifish and just love to read here almost every day. I do know a pretty good amount about fishing but a lot more after reading here for the last year or so. I hope it is alright to mention some of my favorites on this website. Of course I just love Jennifer's column and I love the posts by ******. The modulators do a fine job under difficult circumstances sometimes. I have quit reading other fishing websites because this one has the overall most fishing smart members and fun conversations. I don't know why I waited so long to register as a new member. I really don't know. But I will try to say some intersting things now and then. Keep up all the good things everyone.

Re: No longer a lurker
Just the word "lurker" brings to mind all kinds of negative thoughts???
Trying to get on the good side of the mods right out of the gate....good call!
Thanks for coming out of the cellar to join us. Maybe we'll see ya' on the river.
Oh, what does it mean when all the kings men couldn't put Humpty back together? It means that upper management didn't have the proper training classes in place to ensure that the employees could do their jobs. Your not saying that it was because they were all men were you?
That might be considered sexual harrassment or something.

Re: No longer a lurker
Welcome! First off, I have to say I love your moniker, WHEEE!
Now, if someone would just register with ARGH we would be complete!
Of course, ARGH would be a trouble maker, so maybe we don't need completion!
Anyway, I am so glad to have you on board!

Re: No longer a lurker
Welcome aboard.
Trick - it's the way the media portrays the word "lurker" is why you don't like it. When you think of lurker, you think of a sweaty, hairy, pawn shop owner that strolls the playgrounds, using pixie sticks as bait.
Of course, you could also think of lawyers. They monitor the emergency band, hop in their gremlin, and tail the ambulances.

Re: No longer a lurker
Oh my Thannk you for such a nice welcome. You have a nice website Jennie and no need to say argg. Mr. Trick I wasn't being a sex harasser. Maybe you are an upper management harasser? Besides I dont live in a celler thanks. I am a woman so am not one of the guys but most guys are fine people. But that is why I havent registered before until now. Gregg I am not a expert fisherman. I know the basics well enouggh. I love to fish in the COlumbia River for salmon and sturgeon. But I am divorced now and my ex got the boat. I am learning how to bank fish but the rivers are just so nothing this summer from not enough rain though. I hope that changes this next season.

Re: No longer a lurker
Howdy Wheeeee ! That name implies fun it's a good one. Lurkers are ok but not the guys that like to troll Playgrounds with pixie sticks. That was funny! Do they still make those things? I think my kids like more sophisticated things like Gushers or Almond Roca. Yeah great posts ******,Trick, and the Reel Hey Yall! Lets turn this lurking thing around to a positive for us never have to worry about a lurkers attitude, politics,or inability to take accurate fish measurements.
Gee I thought this was a womans state and they got to keep everything? My ex got the boat, canoe, sailbaord, some of my tools, house, her choice of vehicle, kids most of the time and got to go wild with the credit cards. I thinkd it had something to do with her working for biggest divorce law firm in the state and knowing the judges.I know I should not bring up gender issues and politics, but I had to say something. Justice, friendship or health can't always be bought.
Wheeeee bank fishing is kinda like lurking the more you hang out and listen more you can learn more. After all, it is all the for fun of fishing. Making that first post and deiciding to become part of the Ifish adventure is as exciting as an open book. May your travels be filled with more fish.

Re: No longer a lurker
Thank you for the nice replys! I just e-mailed Jennie that I will put up my name instead of a moniker because people use whee and arg and stuff like that to desribe things. Plus I feel more comfortable now with guys knowing I'm a woman after reading these nice posts. There are more women joining this site and I hope and think many more will. I also am learning to be more comfortble fishing alone on the banks. I have been told that I am good looking and am in my mid 30's so I have had some guys hit on me while fishing. So I now try to fish where there are several people fishing. And I love to fish and learn. Thanks you again.

Re: No longer a lurker
Don't worry Julie. You are not alone. Osprey, too, gets hit on while fishing the river banks. Funny thing is, he's unattractive and it always seems to be on the banks in Oregon, and these women have really short hair and beards.
I say more women out there fishing the better! It gets them out of the kitchen, and your local fire department will thank you.

Miss Julie, May i be one of the first few to welcome you to the ifish board. You will need to be careful in dealing with certain individuals as some of them have a little shark in them if you know what i mean. The first thing you have to learn is to spell Boowee. If you get that straight you got it made. ha ha Welcome aboard, glad to have you, Cagey.

Re: No longer a lurker
Yeah more women fishing great idea! Gangs of them meeting down at the fishing hole imtimedating those short haired bearded types not to snag, playfair and pick up all those cheap-beercans and bait containers after themselves. Would not bother me that gangs of women show up at the fishing hole practicing random acts of kindness and showing some guys how to tail a fish the right way.

Re: No longer a lurker
Let's see.......you're divorced, good-looking, mid-thirties, and you fish. I'm sure that getting a boat ride will be a REAL problem for you.
Welcome aboard, Julie. I'm sure you can find some good info and maybe a boat ride from one of the fine gentlemen here at iFish. OK, you guys, time to shape up!

Re: No longer a lurker
Maybe not all of them are as ugly as me Julie, but most of them are . As for 'Stew, we still have a difficult time telling which direction he is walking. ...
Welcome to ifish. It's good to have more fishing ladies join the community! You mentioned you have been reading here for a year so I figure I don't need to tell you which guys to watch out for. Hey not (Y) all guys are wolves in wolves clothing. There are many very fine gentlemen members here that are nice people and knowledgable fisherman. And quite a few talented fishing ladies too - starting with the site owner Jennie. It would be cool if some of the ladies with monikers revealed they are women - not for any other reason but to make more women feel comfortable registering. ...
Now that you are registered you can ask any fishing questions you want - none are too big or small to ask. Have fun and good luck. ...
Psst, Julie, down here. Shhhh. Bigstew is flat out nuts! Don't listen to his posts. I am a fox hunk. Of course this is a fishing BB, not a dating service, so the guys will behave here .

So now I am a wolf eh RT. That was a cheap shot! LOL!, especially after reading your "gag me with a spoon" glad I got my HIGH boots on stuff above. Just bein' nice myself.
Watch him Julie, he also thinks he is a fishing "god." She zam Sgt. Carter, really.
Being a "cousin" of his, thought I would share his most recent antics caught on film. Stew you were there, huh?

Re: No longer a lurker
Julie - Welcome to the site. I also am a newbee and read for a few months before joining but I am glad I did. There is a wealth of knowledge here and most of the group seems to be made up of very nice people
It is pretty cool to see a woman who loves to fish. I have seen numerous women out on the river with their guys. It is pretty neat to see them enjoying hobbies and life together.
So good luck with the fishing. I am sure you would have no problem finding a boat to fish in if that interest you and maybe someday we will see you at the dock.

How does RT manage to roll? I thought when you dragged both your knuckles across the ground it kinda' acts like a stabilizer???

Re: No longer a lurker
Geez, how did this turn into a bash RT thread? That's OK though because I know it's all in fun. Right? It is all in fun isn't it?
Hey na na na na Na'nook, I didn't insinuate you are a wolf, you are a gentleman. And no need to put your boots on before you 'boot' up the BB - I really am a fatless hottie of a manly gorgeous hunk. I am Julie. Pictures just add, oh, about 30 or 40 lbs. on my body somehow, and about 8 lbs. on my face. ... Heck, it's a moot point anyway, I am a happily married balding flatulent beer bellied guy. Like most of you guys . ...
Women's clothes Stew? Hmmm. At least I don't go into Victoria's Secret stores and have the gall to ask them if they have children's sizes like you do! ...
As for you Steelie', same sort of deal here - I roll down hills and you roll uphill. Go figure that one out. ...
And it's simple Trick, I can't drag my knuckles on the ground when I am carrying 2 fishing rods. That steady trail marking on the ground between my footsteps is ... ah, hmmm ... oh ya, it's that little fishing tackle backpack with the loose straps hangin down and draggin on the ground sometimes.
Any questions?

Welcome aboard Julie. For the REEL scoop on RT just ask one of his fishing buddies...by the way RT Cindy wants her french maid outfit back when you're done with it. Don't forget the high heels too.

Welcome Julie,
I guess i could still be considered a lurker, hardly ever post, some of these guys on here (RT, Stew, Hey y'all, Pilar) must live on here.
Makes ya wonder if they really fish considering the time they spend on here. (just messin with ya guys)
Welcome, lots of good people on here. Just wish I lived a little closer to the Portland or Astoria areas so I could hook up with them.
There's tons of info on here, probly more than anywhere else on the net or otherwise.
BTW, good job Jen!!!

Re: No longer a lurker
Boy, I bet that that moniker picks up a lot of chicks. SWAMPY ranks right up there with STINKY with the gals.

Like I've said before sinker, "The worst day of ifishin', beats the best day at work."

You people realize that Julie could be BOE's new board moniker. I thought they said there were no side-effects to Viagra, Roy?

Re: No longer a lurker
If I can borrow RT or Stew's wig that they use for the Ladies' Night specials and their dresses, can I come to this women's day of fishing? Hey, I'm just looking to fish, unlike these other, VERY OOOOOOLD and withered guys. Hey, I didn't mention any names, you old codgers know who you are: *cough* *cough* RT *cough* ****** *cough*

Re: No longer a lurker
I check out a thread with 50 post thinking there must be a naked picture of Julie with a fish and I see RT and Redneck both trying to poke fun at me.
First of all, Welcome Julie
Second of all, Redneck, I think you been playing with your inflatable to much again. Just because your boat says "outcast" on it means you should be anything but one. If you think a single woman is interested in you, you need to remember you are from bama, they will find out sooner or later, you remember the old love interest, Charlette, wilbur, templeton and stuttering goose.
Third of all, RT, you keep undressing me with your eyes and I will get a restraining order.
Forth or all, Nice to see you back Zaq.

Re: No longer a lurker
Welcome to the board Julie! You'd be amazed what kind of stuff you find on the internet. I know, Steve - a model - who would have thunk it. RT, that isn't your wife, is it? And what is she laughing at? Was the water really that cold? Looks plenty warm to me. I think we'd all apprecitate it if you keep the body-suit on from now on.
Seriously Julie, welcome to ifish. There is a wealth of information at your disposal. Feel free to ask questions, post reports, or even BS some. No question too basic - no river unfished. To some of us, fishing is more than a hobby, it is an addiction. Ifish only feeds this drive. If you haven't already figured that out I'm sure you will. Keep up the good work Jennie and welcome again.

Re: No longer a lurker
Cool, another fishing lady! Hi Shebefishin. I like your idea of a lady's fishing get together. ... And thanks Ben (birdhunter) for posting that genuine picture of me without all those heavy fishing clothes I have on in other pics that add 50 lbs. to my look. The decent looking girl in the pic with me is just an annoying supermodel that has been stalking me. She justs bends over and laughs like that when I tell her I am married and just don't want to be with her. I will tell you this, that model has nothing on Julie! Amen.

You don't like my body Rick? That really hurts man! And you don't think that photo is unaltered? Gee, that hurts too dude! You know how serious I am. Don't you? ...
Need to make this fishing oriented ... let's see ... oh ya, Stew can't tell the difference between a bite and the wind ruffling his rodtip.

Re: No longer a lurker
LOL Grant. "Swampy" hits on Julie. Good luck. ... And Redneck, Roy is also doing DHEA - as I also have been for 3 years now - and used properly it increases male hormones and makes you stronger and younger. The only thing is you have to watch out how much you use. Used in excess it can start producing females hormones to the point of growing 'parts'. Roy just pounds the stuff ... his arms have gotten meatier but I think I noticed some funny protrusions under his upper lifejacket at buoy 10 recently. Higher pitched voice could be next? (just teasing Roy ) ... But I know he is not "Julie". She e-mailed me her picture and she is a 'catch'! Big time! Let's be nice and stick to fishing in addressing her though guys. We want this BB to be lady friendly. More will join then.

Julie - Hello to another fisher woman !!!! If, for some reason, you don't want to fish with a BOY, let me know. I'm in my late 20's, married, but hubby doesn't like to fish.

Re: No longer a lurker
This reminds me of a couple weeks ago seeing a couple women fishing off the clay banks near Pt. Defiance from shore.
Just two women out there by themselves. Really flinging those buzz bombs out there with their level winds. I thought now that's neat, don't see it everyday, but really neat.
Need to see more things like this.
I asked them if they'd had any luck and all they'd gotten at that point was a shaker.
Got the wife into her first salmon on friday so she says she is now hooked.
Be easier getting that kitchen pass now
