The web was taken from a distance of @ 15'. I had closer ones, but the background was way to busy, washing out any chance of a clean picture.
The close up is a different spider, repairing its web.
This time of year, the spiders come out in droves. You have to knock them out of your doorway in the morning, as that is how fast they build at night. It's cool to watch them (the smaller ones) make a chute, or kite, that carries them up and away to find another spot to build. I guess they are making a mad dash to store up protein for the winter?
