Don\'t let the fish count get you down
Even tho the numbers are down at Bonneville...there's fish coming. This one had sea lice on it, and although we heard of it as being the biggest...there were 4 other chinooks brought in..all in about the 9-10 lb. range. This one weighed 37 by my scale, and kicked my "you know what".

Re: Don\'t let the fish count get you down
Nice fish Mark, way to go. I was above you and saw the chase. Now I understand why it took so long! I only saw one other hook up to no avail in the line below us. Zip for my boat today. They seem to be a little late this year, but as you said their on the way!

Re: Don\'t let the fish count get you down
Not too shabby! Was that from today at Frenchman's? I was out there from 8:00-1:30 and only saw 2 boats drop back. I airball, and one that looked a little on the small side, but stayed aboard anyways.Pretty sloooowwww, but hopefully not for long .
Good luck Sunday!

Re: Don\'t let the fish count get you down
I'm only speculating here, but I'm hoping (since I'm on vacation this week) that since the reports at Buoy 10 and Astoria are indicating a slowdown, that them fish are on their way up here. Bill...I didn't see your rig yesterday....wondered where or what happened to you. See ya today!!??

Re: Don\'t let the fish count get you down
One thing that seems to be the ticket out there is a 6 foot dropper line for your lead. Been using about 3 feet on the leader. Now I usually DON"T use scent, but yesterday we tried some of that Pro Cure Herring butter on our hooks. Hmmmm. Say Hi if you see me out there. Want to meet you guys!! Good luck..Mark Oh...and I know I'll catch flak for this, but a bell on your rod isn't a bad idea...these fish hit lightly, and if you're not looking at your rod (zzzzzzzzz) for whatever reason, you may miss a strike. You won't if you have a bell attached. Also..we been replacing the siwash hook with a nice big, SHARP, treble. Tune your Alvins so they flop back and forth. Don't let them roll on you, and keep your setups clean, there was lots of crap floating down the river yesterday.

Re: Don\'t let the fish count get you down
Hey Mark. Nice fish. you told me that they would be getting there by September. Was it the same basic area that we fished?
Keep them coming.
