Hooked Up!! Live report from Seelicious and Tuna Time
After making the call yesterday morning to stay in the Valley to Duck hunt and not run for Tuna, Beer Waggin and I went to work last night to put a few finishing touches on the “DUCK WAGGIN”. We suffered a devastating blow in regards to the ignition system on the big motor and had to scrub the trip. Dave is at Steven’s already this morning and we’ll be in the blind tomorrow if things go as planned.
The phone started ringing about 7am with alternating calls from Bud and Dick. Both boats are into fish!! Dick’s last position was the 30 line, just past Halibut Hill.
Plan B for me is to head to my gal’s parents place in Hood River for the day so I won’t post until later tonight.
I love eating October Tuna…

His crew is casting to jumpers at the 27 line, the water is 57.7. Fish are spoky but getting hooked up.

Re: HOOKED UP!! Live report from Seelicious and Tuna Time
The day started great with Dick hooking 3...Thunder had 2 on and we hooked 1...only 45 minutes after crossing the bar at the 27 line west...then it went cold. We never caught another fish but Tuna Time and Thunder each did pretty good.
Thunder.....9
Tuna Time..7
Seelicious...1
October tuna served with a little humble pie on my boat! Water was blue...57-59*. Thunder went outside to the 125 line and there were many more fish from the 50 line out...lots of jumpers.
All but 2 fish were hooked on the troll. Spreader bars-clones-c-plugs-swim baits...hard to get close and no live bait.
Tomorrow is a new day!

Re: HOOKED UP!! Live report from Seelicious and Tuna Time
Doesn't sounds like a bad day at all... I'm trying to put a last minute crew together, but it sounds like people don't want to fight the launch line in the morning and night.
Hopefully, we'll make it over.
Thanks for the report...

Re: HOOKED UP!! Live report from Seelicious and Tuna Time
Nice work guys! Getting a nice day in October to chase tuna is worth the trip even if the fish aren't cooperating. To bad you don't have live bait to throw at them.

Re: Hooked Up!! Live report from Seelicious and Tuna Time
Great to hear John's phone report from Tuna Time. Man, this 53-7 almost wasn't good enough to offset hitting some Tuna on a great ocean and beautiful day. Go Ducks, great work Beavers.
Me thinks there is another day out there...

Re: Hooked Up!! Live report from Seelicious and Tuna Time
Good going, guys. I'm sitting in a motel in Taber, Alberta. Heading north in the morning until we see good numbers of geese. Thought about the tuna chasers all day during the trip up. Nice to hear they're still out there. Can't wait to hear tomorrow's report. Go get 'em.

Way to go Bud, Dick, Thunder. You folks were the first and now the last. Oh for some live bait up there. I just bought a 12volt air pump, maybe I could transport some live chovies your way. I'm green with envy, but glad for you yay hoos.

Myrtle Bee put the first fish in the box this year...we might have put the last but I would not bet on it.

Nicely done gents. October would not be the same without a "Bud report"
