Winchester Shotgun Value?

Greeting fellow hunters and outdoorsmen/women....I have a question for you experts here....A coworker of mine has a question on a shotgun value........

The gun

Winchester 12ga. 2 3/4 shells only
Model 1500 XTR
SN NX041949
Never Fired

His father-in-law wants to sell it (was a retirement gift back in the mid 80's), and he (co-worker)wants to know if the old man is asking too much or too little....can anyone help? Let me know, thanks. If it is for sale, than I will post it as well on the classies side of ads....

If you are looking for the value of a new Winchester Model 1300, the Blue Book Value published price of a new one is about $275 (black synthetic).

The Walnut Field or Sporting models go for about $350 (100% value).

Winchester's pump shotgun is a Model 1300. I don't know if they have ever made a Model 1500.

I have a Model 1300.

Is it a pump, auto or o/u?

the bluebook says 1500xtr $300 in 100% condition. if it has been handled $260.00, hunted with $220/$240 beatup $160/$200

Your gun is a Model 1300 Featherweight. From the Blue Book of Gun Values (27th Ed.):

"This model had an XTR suffix until 1989."

100% Value= $300 (usually considered "new in box")

98% Value = $260 (somewhere in between)

95% Value = $230 (somewhere in between)

90% Value = $195 (Used, but still in good condition)

1500xtr is in the semi auto section of the 28th edition of the bluebook only manufactured 1978-1982 it is the precurser to the superX models

Baltz526 has it right, on the gun. It is a 1500 XTR, semi-auto. It was given as a retirement gift in the mid 1980's (83 or 84 I think is what I was told).
