I heard recently that hagg lake also hosts catfish, is that true or another rumor? Are thier any other fish in the water there besides trout bass and perch? If so are they good size and who would u go about catching them?

There are Rainbow trout, small mouth bass, large mouth bass, bullheads, perch, bluegill and supposedly crappie. I have never seen any crappie though. Never heard of there being any kokanee in Hagg lake.

According to a very reliable source (who's also a respected iFish member), there are good-sized crappie in Hagg Lake. I may incur his wrath for even mentioning it. Like most folks, I've been unable to locate these tasty critters in that body of water.

The only catfish I've taken (or have seen caught) have been smallish bullheads, but it would seem logical that is there are small ones there's gotta be some big ones producing them.

I know firsthand that there are crappie in Hagg Lake!! It has been quite a few years since we fished for them, but I would imagine they have multiplied over the years!! Also caught a decent sized catfish a few years ago.

The current state record for Smallmouth Bass comes from Hagg Lake. But did you know that the current state record for Brown Bullhead Catfish also comes out of Hagg Lake.

That ought to quell any thoughts of it being a rumor that cats are found in Hagg Lake!

If you want to find out more about crappies be sure and read the colum on BASS AND PANFISH.There are crappies in Hagg lake and i have caught them. It is one of the harder lakes to locatr them in.

I flyfished Hagg last year. In one morning I caught bass, perch, bluegill, crappie, bullhead catfish, and trout. Everything was small, but the diversity of species was a nice change. The state record smallmouth was caught in Hagg Lake by a flyfisherman.
