Crabbin report .. Newport

Hey there.

I went to Newport with Woody and Vickie .. thanks you two.

We caught the morning tide at Yaquina and went crabbing. There were alot of boats and tons of traps. So I found a line where there were not so many and tried it there.

The boat is running good again with a rebuilt outdrive. We drove around and broke the drive in. Right at high slack we pulled and found about 8 good crabs. We left em in during the ebb and went up river to try for salmon.

Mostly it was a boat ride but we got 12 nice crabs. The most for me this year.

Oh, watch out for the sailboats ... like 30 of em .. charging back and forth right through the crab pots.

Thanks for the report, Fresh Crab sounds good...making me hungry, It's been over 2 months for me.

Thanks again for the ride John. Vickie and I always enjoy your company. The new drive sounds great and runs smooth.........good job.

We're having crab stuffed halibut for dinner tonight. There will be plenty left over for crab cakes to freeze and vac pac, too.
