Chinook Landing Report

For what it's worth, I spoke with the fish checker today at 5pm. She said it was a slow day, 1 steelhead- 1 chinook. She went on to mention that the water temp was 72 deg. That can't be good news for things to come.

How far a run is it up to the mouth of the Sandy from chinook.

Not far. I'm terrible w/ distances on the water, but I would say 2 miles, maybe?? We do it all the time. Don't plan on getting up the Sandy if you do get there. Way way too low. I haven't fished off the mouth for a few years now, cause the bite there has been pretty bad. I'm sure fish are around that colder water, just don't know where yet. Good luck.

I was out there today and saw 1 steelhead and 1 chinook caught. Probably the same ones the fish checker checked. Other than that it was very slow. The water was too warm - the fish are half cooked by the time you net em'.

It's still early for the chinooks to be in very thick, but I just hope when they do get here they'll hit in the warm water. Last year it really died off when the water warmed up.
